Forage has been serving the Oregon wine country in one form or another since 2001. Beginning with catering and culinary classes in 2004, they started catering with the first mobile wood fired oven in the Willamette Valley in 2006. They love the area for its local bounty and proximity to the Pacific Ocean’s vast selection of fish. Forage had always wanted a little spot to showcase the area’s food and wine, so in 2016 they began the search for and found a 1915 craftsman building and began the process of renovating it. Forage opened in 2020 with their signature wood fired oven and hospitality.

Pizza at its best
After reading other reviews decided this was one place not to miss in Newberg. The craftsman house Forage is located in lends a cozy atmosphere especially when you're seated near the fireplace. Went for lunch and had their lunch special with a margharita pizza and wild greens salad. The wood fired pizza was sublime and the salad with maple vinaigrette was a great accompaniment. The lemon ricotta zeppole was a fitting finish to a fabulous meal. Service was friendly and cordial. Would highly recommend Forage.

A treat across the board!
What an unexpected gem! From the cozy ambiance to the exquisite food to the incredible wine selection—topped off by friendly, welcoming service—it a restaurant we will definitely revisit as a destination (all of us live outside Newberg, but not too far for a specific return trip. Just delightful!

Good pizza good vibes
An unpretentious, down to earth locals place with friendly and helpful servers and a nice vibe. Couples, friends, families. We had a good prosciutto and tomato pizza with current salad offering and it was plenty for the two of us. We were in town for a night to visit a couple of vineyards, and not up for a fancy meal. Would highly recommend if this is what you are looking for.

Friendly unpretentious local spot
At the end of the day, a little tired and moderately hungry, we found this unpretentious friendly spot with good prosciutto and fresh tomato pizza and the featured salad. The servers were welcoming and helpful, and it appeared mainly local people were dining (rather than tourists). Easy to pass up when going by, since a simple little house, and we easily parked on a side street nearby. Relaxed and not rushed. Just what we needed.

An uexpected pleasure
We were finishing up a long weekend in Oregon's Willamette Valley wine country, driving home to Portland. This stop was to be "lunch because we're hungry" - nothing special. But it was special! The owner takes care with each thing he makes. The salad greens were crisp, fresh, and well-chosen, and the home-made maple vinaigrette was outstanding. The pesto veggie pizza had fresh tomatoes and was well-balanced, with a chewy crust. And the lemon pound cake with Marscapone drizzle and fresh berries was to die for. Plus there's very comfy outdoor seating (front & back, including covered heated seating). Enjoy!
