Nothing special
Typical cafe ambiance. Fairly decent service. Good pancakes. Nice sausage. Fair prices.

Very disappointed
Disappointed..ate here a few years ago and really liked it but now...not everyone likes raw onions and their salad and when I ask for "blue cheese dressing: how about that and not crumbled up dry cheese?. Why oh why does your chowder have so much pepper in it? That is all I could taste not even the clams at all and way to much parsley..I did not ask for "green chowder". After two bites of it i decided enough!!

Dining experience depends on which wait staff you get!
The first time we visited the Fishtails Cafe, we had Connie as our waitress and had a wonderful experience. Connie was friendly, helpful and just a nice person. The food was great, my husband and I had breakfast and it couldn't have been better. The chicken fried steak and eggs were cooked to perfection! The second time we went was on a Friday and we were waited on by a young, tall girl and our experience was pretty much awful. It was about 1:30PM, just about every table in the restaurant was "dirty", even the 8 seat table out in the middle. The tables stayed "dirty" the entire time we ate lunch, she never did anything to clean up all the mess! The music was extremely LOUD coming from the kitchen, too LOUD for the comfort of guests and our waitress was more interested in visiting, talking, goofing around with the kitchen staff than waitressing. She did not clean any tables or do much of anything out front the entire time we were there. Basically, her service sucked, she couldn't have cared less that we were there. We had to ask for water, she never did refill our drinks, ask us how our meals were. The two experiences were the difference between night and day. We don't know if the tall, young waitress is related to the owner, but she certainly has no business dealing with the public, as her attitude is about as bad as it gets!!! We didn't get the second waitresses name but she was awful. We will not return to the restaurant if she is working. The food is great and it is worth visiting this establishment but not if this certain wait staff is there. She has the ability to ruin your experience by being a royal "butthead". She clearly is not an asset to the business, really has no business dealing with the public and someone should intervene as I stated, she is about as bad as it gets.

Excellent food at a family owned restaurant
The food was excellent. The slumgallion was phenomenal. Served extremely hot so make sure you let it cool down a little. Eggs were cooked to perfection. We got to talk to the owner and she was engaging and informative. Don’t expect fancy. Just expect really good food.

Not the best decision
I had a salad that good but the cinnamon roll I bought to take home was very disappointing. They were very thick with not near enough icing. I cut the top third off and was eating it until my sister found a hair in hers!
