If You Love Fried Clams
Great little place that sells crabs fresh from the ocean. We had fish and chips (halibut)) and clams and chips. The fish was light and tasty in a batter and not greasy at all. The fried clams were delicious and not sweet. The fries fries crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. There is sit in dining but we took our dinners to go and sat on benches overlooking the bay while listening to the seals bark at each other. Prices are very good and the servings are large. Nice staff.

Give it a pass
So disappointing! I would not eat here again. To start, the only bathrooms are dirty port-a-potties. Then, the food was just as expensive cafeteria-style as at the table service place we went the night before. $14 for a bowl of clam chowder? Must be a great clam chowder, right? Nope, nothing interesting. My tablemates felt their scallops and oysters and halibut were good, but I think maybe they gave me halibut instead of cod as the fish was dry. The setting needs updating for the price of the food. For a better overall experience with better food for the same price, try Luna Sea south of this place. I would do two stars if it wasn't for my family saying they liked what they got (other than the clam chowder).

Decent fish and chips
Decent quality fish and chips - great ambiance and location! Watch the fish plant employees pack and process fish while you eat - very interesting and kiddos love it! They also sell fresh caught, local fish and crabs and other seafood and various items. I stopped in spontaneously for some lunch while exploring the cute little Newport downtown area. The entrance is inviting and menu sounded good. I was definitely intrigued by their Tidal Tots - tater tots with cod and herbs like thyme mixed in - so I grabbed a small order of those. I’m pretty sure I had asked for the fish tacos bc I wasn’t in the mood for any fried fish and wanted to try some fresh grilled local varieties. I was very confused when I got my food bc I was handed a basket of fried fish and chips. When I asked the staff member about it, she insisted that I was remembering my order wrong and I didn’t want to argue so just took it. They use rockfish for their fish and chips and they have a decent ratio of breading to fish. It was pretty good. Their Tidal Tots are a great concept but they were way way over cooked so they weren’t great like that. They have a large refrigerator case full of fresh fishes and crabs and other seafood and local offerings for sale as well. It all looked great quality. The dining area is clean and relaxed with great views into the main floor of the fish factory with all the action so you have some great entertainment while you eat. Their located in the cute little harbor area of Newport, surrounded by lots of shops and seafood and candy stores and lovely piers and views. Parking is mostly street parking but I always found spots easily.

Freshest seafood you can get
It’s a simple place that sells fresh seafood with a couple tables to order food. We had the freshest and the best crab cakes ever. Prices and service are excellent and in addition you can watch shrimp processing through a glass window. Very authentic place.

Dinner and a show!
This place is fantastic! It doesn’t look like much, but the food was wonderful. Had the shrimp and crab melt with clam chowder. Clean restrooms! And a nice bonus - while you are eating, you can watch a shrimp processing operation through the glass as they clean them to prep to flash freeze and ship. It’s very much a fishing community. This is a street full of a mix of fun touristy shops and fish processing operations right in the harbour. You can walk out on the docks to watch the large boats coming in and see the sea lions sunning on the rocks. Very enjoyable.
