Driftwood Restaurant and Lounge has been serving Cannon Beach since 1944. This favorite is an institution for area residents and a wonderful find for visitors. It is a warm, casual restaurant, which we’ve recently embellished with a large outdoor fire-pit that overlooks the action on Main Street.
Cannon Beach Dinner choice
We had a delightful time here. Staff was attentive and welcoming. The restaurant is lively, but conversation was possible. Steaks were great. They make a nice martini! Please be sure to ask if there is a ‘special’
The onion rings ring’s were amazing. Disappointed with the chowder. I read they were the best in town. I don’t think so!!
Cozy Dining in downtown Cannon Beach
Excellent but you had better have a reservation. Service was very good and the food, steak, was excellent. Full bar and nice wine list. Right on the main street with a gigantic firepit in front.
None Better Anywhere on the Oregon Coast
I was born in Portland, OR. in 1946. I've been coming to Cannon Beach/Seaside are since then - carried in the early days... I joined military service in 1964, and was away for a few years. When I came back, one of the first things I wanted was a trip to Cannon Beach and a meal at the Driftwood. I was not disappointed then, and never have been since In my younger days, my favorite and standard dinner was a medium-rare steak (peppered - which they'd do) with a side of sautéed prawns, and of course, the marvelous bread and salad... with friends around the table... the MOST marvelous food.... And today - I Know that I could order the exact same meal, and that it would be exactly the same as it was over 50 years ago!. The Driftwood has changed hands a time or two - but new owners have been smart enough to NOT change what works. The menu and the cooking have not changed. At my age, I can't eat that much anymore, nor do I show up with a few others who can help me do so. I'm usually alone, and sit at the bar, order a beer and an order of appetizer prawns and a salad... - which are as wonderful as they've always been. The Driftwood has endeavored and marvelously succeeded to be the bedrock of Cannon Beach - and indeed - Oregon Coast - Restaurants. And has been so for over 70 years - to which I can wholeheartedly testify.
What a wonderful experience we had celebrating our 54th anniversary! Making reservations with Jordan Maier, Manager, ahead of time via email worked terrific.4 of us in a quiet corner was very important to us and WOW, did they deliver! No waiting on a very busy night, an alcove table near the back inside, and service that was personalized and impeccable. Food choices were wide and varied and all selections were delicious We highly recommend this restaurant when you travel to Cannon Beach and eat downtown right in the middle of what is going on. We will definitely return to this establishment as our first, and now the only, choice!
