Driftwood Restaurant and Lounge has been serving Cannon Beach since 1944. This favorite is an institution for area residents and a wonderful find for visitors. It is a warm, casual restaurant, which we’ve recently embellished with a large outdoor fire-pit that overlooks the action on Main Street.

Location was nice and from outside, but the food was not that good we had steaks and there were flies inside. The food was late as well.

Just okay
This restaurant was okay. I honestly expected better. We had fish and chips (decent but nothing to write home about), a burger (very meh), and a prime rib sandwich (good but not outstanding). Ours was not a terrible experience but it wasn’t great. For a restaurant in Cannon Beach and for the prices, we deserved great.

On our way down the coast from Astoria, we were looking for a lunch spot with smaller options and Driftwood turned out to be perfect. We both had the chowder and salad meal and both were delicious. The chowder was one of the best I’ve had — creamy, buttery even, full of clams and potatoes. Salad was fresh and crisp. We sat inside but the deck looked inviting. Good, friendly, efficient service.

Flew up to Portland to visit friends. Picked us up at the airport and off to Rockaway Beach we went. But before reaching our destination, we stopped for lunch at The Driftwood. Ordered the Calamari appetizer with a Nut Crusher Peanut Porter. Excellent food and drink.

Wonderful Dining Experience
Loved this restaurant and would highly recommend. Service was excellent. My husband had the grilled salmon which was perfectly prepared. I had a dungeness crab roll which was the best I've ever had. There is both indoor and outdoor seating in the heart of Cannon Beach.
