Driftwood Restaurant and Lounge has been serving Cannon Beach since 1944. This favorite is an institution for area residents and a wonderful find for visitors. It is a warm, casual restaurant, which we’ve recently embellished with a large outdoor fire-pit that overlooks the action on Main Street.

Steve was a good waiter
Steve was a good waiter. The huckleberry lemonade was good but served in a rocks glass, I was expecting a taller glass. The garlic bread was excellent. My husband had the prime rib and prawns with vegetables and liked it. I had the prawns in garlic butter with fries. I’m not a salt person but kept adding salt to get more flavor. Maybe it was my tastebuds but thought the prawns were pretty bland and the fries were just ok.

A let down
We finally got into this place. We have seen it for years, but always too busy with long wait times. It is first recommended place by everyone. I’m not sure why. The outside space is nice when weather good. I thought the lottery machines a bit tacky. The food was the biggest disappointment. We ordered shrimp cocktail 3/5, Caesar salad 3/5, fried oysters 3/5, grilled salmon 3.5/5, and Marion berry cheese cake 3/5. Nice wine pours.

Good service. Food just ok.
We had great service at the bar but the food was not that great. I had the fried oysters and they were so greasy they made me sick. This is the second time I've eaten here and I have been just meh about it each time.

Cute yummy restaurant in Cannon Beach
Excellent food, prompt service, and lovely atmosphere! The seafood chowder and the baked halibut were absolutely delicious! We were so full we did not have dessert, and our server must’ve known because for some reason she didn’t ask us if we wanted any, which wasn’t a problem because we did not lol

Great casual and comfortable restaurant
This is a place for both regulars and people visiting (tourists) it is very comfortable and has an old feel much like The Hitching Post from the movie Sideways. I had the Halibut with rice pilaf for the sauce. My wife had the petite filet which was very flavorful and we had blue cheese salad and clam chowder all of which were very good. Just a very friendly place with great service.
