An absolute Gem - request Linda the sommelier as your server, you will have an excellent meal!
What a gem! Lovely atmosphere including a nice, quiet piano playing throughout our meal. It could have been 20% brighter in the back section just because it was a bit hard to see the menu, but plenty of light to dine by. The menu selections change daily and we didn’t have a loser in the selections we ordered. We shared 2 salads (Caesar & Iceberge wedge) between us — beautiful presentation on both and truly delightful and balanced flavors. Both dressings were superb and not over or under applied. We ordered all three of the pasta selections for the night — carbonara w/ spaghetti, seafood w/ pappardelle & lemon chicken with fettuccini. Perfectly Al dente house made pasta. Freshest ingredients, again sauced just right, not over or under. The portions are moderate, not so big that you feel like you can’t enjoy a starter/dessert, and not too small either. Generous portions in the seafood — three large prawns and two tangerine-sized scallops! We splurged on dessert and it was well worth it - pannacotta was delicate and subtle whereas the croissant bread pudding w/ bacon was a STAR of rich decadence… actually strike star… it was RIDICULOUS. That good. Lastly, I’d highly recommend you request Linda the sommelier for your server. She is attentive, extremely knowledgeable on the menu, and frankly we couldn’t have asked for better wine selections. Everything she recommended or brought were the best parts of the meal. Don’t miss this spot if you’re in town to visit Willamette or OSU with your senior or college student.

Beautiful food presentation, lovely decor with a piano player, but food was mediocre.
The minute you walk through the doors, you are taken in by the beautiful, warm and old charm of the decor. Brick, and dark wood, complete with stained glass, paintings and a piano player. The food is plated beautifully, however falls a bit flat. Under-seasoned and basically mediocre. Our waiter was pleasant but dropped our entrees so quickly and walked away, he didn't even ask if we wanted anything else. I wanted to have a glass of wine with dinner, but he left without getting that order. The food was so bland, that I was searching for salt and pepper, but there was none on the table, and the waiter didn't return until we had eaten nearly all the meal to check on us. We did have desert and that was the star of the evening. I might try this restaurant again, but for the money, it was a disappointment. Maybe they (like so many other establishments right now) were under staffed or left with untrained staff in the front and back of the house.

Taking a group for dinner – BUYER BEWARE
Made reservations for a party of 15. At the time of booking the reservation we asked if we were ordering off the menu and was told it would be an abbreviated menu. When checking in with the hostess we asked about a children’s menu, which we were told they did not have one, that they usually just do some noodles with butter. We were seated at the back of the restaurant with a long table. We asked for a booster seat for the 3 year old in the group and was told we could stack two chairs on top of each other. It was extremely dark in that part of the restaurant and asked if they could turn up the lights. We were told to take the candles out of the candle holders and use those for light to look at the menu. The only menu on the table were for a four course meal. This was very confusing to us, but were told that this is what we were using for our meal. • Course one was two appetizers that they brought out for us to share. • Course two was the choice of two salads. • Course three was the main meal with 4 options • Course four was one option (vanilla ice cream rolled in crushed oreo cookie) We had a nursing mom who is dairy free due to the infant having a dairy allergy. She was not able to eat the appetizers or have cheese in her salad option. They recommend the hanger steak as her main meal option. She normally does not eat beef. She was not able to have dessert as they did not have a dairy free option. The three year old did not want a salad and only wanted noodles with butter. We were told he needed to order off the menu, so his dad ordered the chicken fettucine. The waitress said that we could box up what he did not eat. He did not touch the plate, so it was boxed up. He did eat about half of the ice cream with oreo. We were together to celebrate at 70th wedding anniversary, with the anniversary couple picking the restaurant and wanting the entire family to get together with them. The 93 year old couple had a really hard time eating their food for lack of seeing the food. They were not able to find the apple in the salad or get their food on their forks. The main course was boxed up for them to take home. We had a couple of people order the Hanger steak and ended up getting that boxed up to take home so they could see the fat and eat around it. That was not possible in the dark restaurant. We felt like we were taken hostage with the only option of a four course dinner without this knowledge in advance. Then after the meal was done we received a bill for a base cost of $97 per person, including the 3 year old. Who charges a 3 year old for an adult meal? Drinks were separate, which is fine. Then a 20% tip was added, which is what we would have tipped anyway. We probably should have addressed the $97 cost for the baby at the time, but did not want to ruin the happiness the great grandparent’s felt to have the whole family together. You really need to have options for people with dietary restrictions, or reduce the cost of their meal also.

Piano bar is my favorite
Service, food & cocktails are always superb! We especially enjoy Friday and Saturday nights when Tommy plays piano.

Terrible Meal
Extraordinarily long wait for mediocre food and a very rude waitress. Awful experience. We will not be returning.
