Our experience exceeded our expectations!!! Service was great and the food was excellant!! We were quite amazed and enjoyed the best steak we have had in Salem! The sear was perfect and flavor of beef was exceptional!!! Salem is greatly lacking “tasty food” but Chira’s will be our place of choice in the future !!! PS Outside dining available also
Terrible. We used to love Chira's. But something has changed. Food: My wife's lamb was flavorless. I ordered a steak medium rare; it came medium well. I asked for a baked potato with butter; it came with what looked like cheese drizzled over it. The fried calamari was an extremely little amount for the price. Service: We had to wait for the dinnerware. I asked for steak sauce and they brought me something that was just a general sauce. What I told the waitperson about the poor quality of my meal, she seemed unconcerned. She did offer to have another steak cooked. By then I was really hungry, my wife had her food already, and I had no confidence in their ability to do it right. Even after I spoke with the manager - who thought I had a problem with the dinnerware, there was no offer to reduce the cost of my meal. I wouldn't have accepted, but an offer would have been nice. It was disappointing. We won't be back.
Waited 20 minutes for someone to place our order. Waited another 12 before we left. Watched two other couples who came 5 and 10 minutes after us get served drinks and bread before us. We left after spending 32 minutes with nothing but water. Complete waste of time. Btw we made a reservation.
Service was slow and minimal. Fish was dry, asparagus was over cooked and mashed potatoes were sticky and inedible. Husband’s Alfredo sauce was bested by Newman’s jarred sauce. Oh well. We tried!
This place is a go to. The atmosphere is dark, relaxing, and pleasant. The service was great and the food was even better! The Parmesan-crusted halibut was delicious!!!
