Dan and Robin Christensen have been baking for nearly 30 years and are continuing their family traditions in Cannon Beach. Beginning the trade at the age of 12, Dan is a third-generation baker, with deep family roots in Denmark. The Danish is handmade, the eight-grain bread is hearth baked and everything is made from scratch. The star item at Cannon Beach Bakery is their famous Haystack Bread. Traced back to a formula nearly 50 years old, the crusty loaves are known up and down the coast for their outsanding taste. Each loaf is hand-prepared start to finish just as it was in 1920.

Never been treated so rudely in my life
I contacted Cannon Beach Bakery when I was looking to have a small wedding cake made for my elopement. I couldn’t tell you what their cakes taste like because the owner of the bakery, Deanna, was so incredibly rude, I didn’t order one. She was openly contemptuous of me when I asked her about sizes and prices. I had wonderful service from the florist, Basket Case, our wedding officiant, Rev. BJ Hesketh, and photographer, Alicia Von Bond. They are all classy professionals and made our wedding a lovely event. But I will never attempt to order anything from the Cannon Beach bakery again. I’m still stunned by the offensive way she treated me.

Poor customer service
Only game in town. Decent doughnuts, long lines, fairly pretentious attitude from older lady (owner?). Much nicer bakery in Seaside just up the road, with no attitude.

Tasty Treats!
They do a bustling business, yet the line moves quickly and they have you in and out in no time. Three is seating both in the shade and in the sun ... and given its such a small establishment, the different tables and benches are rather abundant. It's right in the center of the town's hubbub, which might be irritating or appealing. Good for people watching. We got several treats ... all of which were pretty pricey for what you got. The only treat to die for was an Italian baked good that was so good we had to go back for more. (I have no idea what it was called.) If you have a sweet tooth -- go!

Best Bismark ever
Wonderful pastries, best Bismark I've had in a long time. Plenty of outside seating, some covered for rainy days.

great sandwiches, disappointed by the pastries. closed Tuesdays.
Always a great spot to get sandwiches (on amazing bread!) close to the beach at the north end of town. And we can never resist the cases full of bakery treats. Although on this visit, the pastries didn't seem as fresh as in the past. perhaps we came at the wrong time. The cookies and bread were exceptional! We were surprised to find the bakery was closed on Tuesday, or we might have picked up sandwiches there 3 days, instead of just 2.
