Small town cooking that’s worth a stop
Snowy weather and slick roads as we were driving our RV back to Central Oregon. We stopped in for a hot lunch and break from the winter driving stress. Excellent butternut squash soup. My husband rated the pastrami sandwich as very good. It’s always a treat to find excellent homemade food in rural communities

Save your money.
What happened?! Save your money! Maybe they were sold? We used to love this place and stopped every time on our way through town. This was a total bust. Tuna salad was a mayo sandwich with a few flakes of tuna. Veggie supreme sandwich was essentially lettuce and spinach. Potato salad offered for marble chunks of potato, with egg. The turkey avocado sandwich was taken two literally it was just wheat bread, turkey, avocado, and lettuce. Mustard give us some flavor and a piece of cheese. Spent $70 on meal and they had a call to ask us for one dollar for 1 tablespoon of yellow mustard. I’m Pasta salad for a splash of anything to give it moisture. We were holding out for rhubarb pie… but the rhubarb was still raw just like celery and the pie crust look great for the outside but underneath that it was just raw dough. $71 later we went to McDonald’s on our way out of town. Depressing. Sad to leave a bad review but it’s really not fair for anyone to spend this much money on food that’s really not edible. The one positive comment we can leave is it the staff was very nice.
