We had a special vacation dinner here. I had the special of cod. It came with their Champagne Risotto. I couldn't detect any champagne, but it sure was good. My husband's meal was less successful. He had the ribeye steak and lobster. The steak lacked flavor, and was so fatty that I thought we were watching an lipoma episode of "Dr. Pimple Popper." But his also came with the delicious risotto, and the lobster tail was great. Drinks were very generous, and service was good. It was an expensive meal though, at almost $160. So I don't know if we will come back.
Really great lunch. We had the steak and blue salad. Cooked to perfection and incredibly tender. Friendly service too. Will definitely go back.
One of the most horrendous evenings ever spent in a restaurant, First, the food was excellent - delicious. However, there was a crowd of women, presumably from the Chamber of Commerce, celebrating a birthday, who were the loudest, most obnoxious group of women I have ever seen in a restaurant. Their behavior was totally unacceptable and the staff did not, or would not, control them. We had dinner the evening before and it was lovely so we went back the next evening, but it was a totally different experience. They ruined most of the other diners' evening as well. I am surprised that the management; owner; or staff would permit this type of behavior. A definite poor experience and not a great reason for visiting Brooking, Oregon. A very bad example for this small town who mostly must rely on tourism.
Really a wonderful meal for my wife and I. We shared a Steak and Blue salad that was very tasty and the Chicken Marsala which was extremely yummy. Too full to have dessert afterwards. Both meals were cooked to perfection. We had a nice table next to the window and although we were the last customers, our waiter (Nicholas) told us to relax and not be in a hurry to leave. Highly recommend The Black Trumpet for dining.
I had planned a business meeting with someone that had to cancel so I sat at the bar and ordered lunch! Great move- The soup of the day was fish chowder. It was light and the Cheyanne lent a bite to the soup- I also ordered 1/2 a sandwich (French dip) . Both were delicious! The French Dip had onions in the au jus that were terrific. Well prepared. Timely ( about. 10 minutes from ordering) it was a busy day. See picture
