Beckie’s Cafe, listed on the National Historic Register, was built in the early 1920s by Ed Beckelhymer and sits along the banks of Union Creek, near the Rogue River, a scenic waterway that is enjoyed by many rafters and fishermen. Historic Beckie’s is known for its huckleberry pie, with local-picked fruit. Year after year guests return to the fresh mountain air and the smell of the pines, getting back in touch with nature in a peaceful and tranquil setting that takes them back in time.

Don't waste your time. Nothing but disappointing
My husband and I live in Australia and visited Beckie's ten years ago. We fell in love with the hospitality and (most importantly) the amazing pies. Imagine our disappointment when we turned up with our young family a few days ago only to be greeted by an overworked and grumpy staff member who told us there was a long wait but couldn't tell us how long and they couldn't do takeaway due to staff issues. After a 40+ minutes wait we were finally seated. We then asked to purchase a whole pie, only to be told by another rude and overworked staff member that it wouldn't be possible. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We waited ten years and came all the way from Australia to be told we couldn't have any of their famous pie. In short, Beckie's used to be great but is now nothing more than a monumental disappointment. Will not be back!

Stop here for food or just pie if in the area
As always the food is exceptional. Simple cafe food and homemade pie. We have stooped here for 20 years and the quality remains superb.

We Won't Be Back
Menu meal combinations are fixed. There was no one or two eggs and toast or a single pancake on the menu. So my wife ordered biscuits and gravy after being told the biscuits are home made. The biscuits were dry and my wife didn't want to burn the calories on them so she asked the waitress if she could just get a pancake. The waitress said they couldn't do that. So we asked if there was a manager and the waitress said she didn't know but she would check. A while later the manager did come over and told us he would have made us a pancake but by then everyone had finished their meal and we were ready to go. So for us, the two biggest issues are the fixed menu combinations and the unhelpful waitress. We also think the chef needs to get a new biscuit recipe. We won't be back.

Listed on the National Historic Register
When in Crater Lake area, this is a no-brainer choice for a good meal. Such a quaint little restaurant with limited seating so expect a wait during their busy season. We both had the beef stew and cornbread with a side salad and it was the perfect meal after a day of traveling. Breakfast the next morning was excellent as well. Just sorry we didn’t try the pie.

Great breakfast and cinnamon rolls
We stopped here on our way to Crater Lake for breakfast. In addition to the breakfast burrito and traditional breakfast we ordered a cinnamon roll which was huge and absolutely wonderful. We had to take it with us for breakfast the next day. The piece of ham with my traditional breakfast was thick and covered half the plate. Our server was efficient and very friendly. The cafe decor enhances the dining experience.
