Great Food and Service
Best fried fish we had during our time in Curry County area. Excellent fries, good choice of beers. Get there early it's a small place but worth the wait if you see a crowd.
Very small inside, but we had the best waiter. Younger guy (I wish I remembered your name!) who was on top of things and then only one running the front of the house. I had the tuna sandwich, which was great! Definitely worth a stop!
Tiny place but rewarding meal!
If you sneeze you might miss this tiny little restaurant, but it sure serves up a nice meal! Our server was friendly and seemed to be handling all the customers single-handledly with aplomb. I ordered the coconut lime mussels and they were delicious! Plenty for a light supper, and the bread for mopping up the sauce was great. Other family members enjoyed their meals equally.
Fresh, Tasty Food
A late June trip to visit friends brought us to Barnacle Bistro for dinner. The restaurant is in a very unassuming building, so much so you may not consider stopping. Inside is a small dining area with about a dozen or so tables. There were four people in our group. We were acknowledged when we came in but waited for several minutes to be seated while our host wrangled a large beer keg into place. One of our party wondered if they should try to help out. Once seated we checked out the beer and wine list, with everyone finding a beverage to suit them. The menu featured creative dishes leaning towards fresh ingredients and fish. Across our group we tried the Mediterranean Rockfish with couscous (absolutely delicious!), Wasabi fish tacos (another hit!), The Brazilian seafood tacos (awesome!), and the roasted beet salad with a side of couscous for the vegan member of our party. The clam chowder was also noted to be very good by those who ordered it. The food was fresh, nicely presented, and full of flavor. I was hoping to have another meal at this restaurant before our visit ended, which didn't happen. Since then I have tried to replicate the rockfish at home but it doesn't compare. Definitely try this place if you are in the area!
Get there before the crowds show up.
This tiny restaurant serves some of the best food up and down the Oregon coast - and a nice little selection of beers on tap, too. If you are lucky, the soup of the day will be clam chowder (It's all hand-made, with lots of fresh-cut potatoes and celery floating in clam heaven). All of their food is made fresh daily, with specials as creative as their chef's imagination - which appears to be amazing. Try anything on the menu from delicious salads to a grilled cheese sandwich (which is extraordinary)!! The parking lot is small, as is the indoor eating area, but there's always a patio outside in balmy summer weather! Do not pass by Gold Beach without stopping at this hidden, tiny gem!!
