First off DO NOT let this place fool you!!!!! Yes it sells bait and tackle. The food here is amazing. There are 3 places that are recommended all in a row. We looked at them all and well we chose this one. We started with the fish and chips. Now these aren't your typical beer battered or over battered frozen fish fillets. We are talking fresh Rockfish and Fresh Halibut. Absolutely delish. We were convinced, we then ordered the fish tacos. Rock fish grilled. Again not disappointed. We chose to get the sauce on the side. Go that route if you remember. Also got a burger. That was pretty tasty as well. Take the time to talk with the owner who man's the grill. Nice guy. Part of the charm of this place is the discussion with those behind the counter. All very talkative and nice. Very refreshing these days. It definitely isn't the fancy tourist joint but locals know its the place to go for great food. They have the awards to prove it. We showed up close to closing time fir them but they stayed open just to make sure we git good eats. They very easily could have just said no. Also when buying a tea from the cooler, rather than taking the more expensive sale, the guy at the counter offers a home made unsweetened tea instead. This is what this place is about. Not making a quick buck but offering great food at great prices. This place is a diamond in the rough that you can't sleep on. HIGHLY RECOMMEND !!!!!!

EXCELLENT
I was in last Wednesday and had a great experience . The staff was amazing . The guy in the back cooking was really nice and gave me some advice on beer and smoked salmon which were both phenomenal . Great location . Quaint little town on the dock with gorgeous views . Loved it ! Great customer service ! thanks guys !

The Best Halibut Sandwich
My wife and I had the halibut sandwich, hers was grilled, mine lightly fried. Both were excellent. She remarked " best halibut she ever had."

Shrimp tasted like shrimp!
Wonderful fresh deep'fried fish, shrimp, osters on the combo-platter. Shrimp tasted like shrimp Shrimp tasted like shrimp! That's one of my criteria for "wonderful". We had a rare calm, sunny day for sitting outside enjoying the ambience of First Street, Bandon, & Bait Shop seafood on the beautiful Oregon Coast. You should be so lucky!

Colorful, Excellent Local Fish Shop
This is a colorful, excellent, social, local fish spot. Caters to fishermen and anyone who likes really good seafood. Nice folks running it. You will probably have a short happy conversation with a friendly local while you wait on outside picnic benches. We loved the fish n chips and clam chowder so much we came back the next day. We got the rock cod fillets which were super fresh! They throw in a little cup of shrimp n cocktail sauce, too. Great basic slaw as well. We noticed tourists passing the place to go to the more popular joints just further down 1st Street. Why? The prices aren't cheap, but for the amount n quality, we were thrilled. Highly recommend!
