Ended up spending the night in Madras so was looking for a local tavern with good pub food or a long-standing local restaurant. Basically wanted a place that had been a been locally-owned mainstay, some Madras history. But after Googling places I found Madras Brewing (which has Madras Public House as some of their signage including on their menu. It was a very nice spot even though not the kind of place I was looking for. The kind of upscale restaurant/bar I'd expect to step into in a metropolitan area. Seemed like a restaurant that hadn't been in town very long. I got the jambalaya from their very eclectic menu. It was very good. Not overly spicy and seemed very freshly made. Had more shrimp in it than I expected. On the down side is that service was slow - fortunately I wasn't in a hurry. When I arrived there was a large group just leaving and all paying separately which seemed to take longer than I would expect. Service was nice though perhaps I would expect friendlier service from a small town establishment. And though I did enjoy my jambalaya the andouille sausage in it seemed rather bland so it may not have been andouille sausage but another type of sausage. Over all I would go back again but would still love to find a spot in Madras that reflects more of the area's history.
We spent a night in Madras and this great place to have dinner and watch Monday Night Football. Great beverage and food selection. The staff is friendly and very efficient. They take pride in their service and their facility!
Our group of motorcyclists were looking for a place that couple accommodate us for lunch (13 of us) and we found this gem. Our group enjoyed their meals including the Kalua Pig plate, street tacos, Hickory burger, French dip, Pulled Pork sliders, and onion rings, jiI accompanied by a very yummy jalapeño dip/sauce. Those that had their specialty cocktails were pleasantly surprised with their deliciousness since this is a Brewery! My husband enjoyed his beer, the Red Ale. They have a nice patio area with misters but the day we were there we needed the nice AC. We will be back!
Stopped on our way through town. Super nice staff, great beer and wonderful outside seating. Will defiantly stop again when in the area.
We had the street tacos and they were delicious. Servers were quick to take orders and serve the food. They have a good selection of draft beer. The menu is typical pub food which should please everyone at prices that are quite reasonable.
