Employee behind desk on her phone being unhelpful. Another aggressive employee talking about his problems with another associate. Dirty merchandise and some that's got cat claw marks still on the shelf to be sold and cat puke on boots with no discount. Filthy bathrooms. And a new manager that don't know the business and is rude. They used to have good employees they no longer work there. More recently A neibor had a horrible experience where he dropped of an atv to be worked on with a specific list of what not to do. The owner tried to agure and add a 100 for something that wasn't done and specifically asked not to do.
This place was great. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. We had two young first time riders with us. The staff made sure to teach at their level, and even let us switch to a smaller ATV after all Of the training because our daughter was too scared to ride the big one. I would definitely return and recommend.
I had the opportunity to rent a single seat Polaris UTV RSR 1000 from this business. Everyone was super nice and professional. They made sure I had a good time. The dunes were amazing and fun. It felt like I was on another planet. It can be confusing with all the turns so bring your phone and use google maps in terrain view to cross reference the map they give you for your location. The price was reasonable for the hour of fun I had, however I would have like for them to include the $30 mandatory clutch bell and belt fee into rental price. I didnt flip the car because I was careful but they do charge $500 for the tow and to ensure it doesnt catch fire. Have fun and stay safe.
Beware of this place if you want good customer service. We had 2 rentals on 7/12/21. 1- 2 seater utv and 1-2 seater atv. We drove from CA to try out the Oregon dunes based on the reviews on google but we had a misleading experience for our early bird booking of 10am to 12pm with an additional 1 hour free of a return of 1pm. First The 2 seater atv we were given had issues at the start of the ride, we continued getting stuck in the sand and tried all techniques that were shown us. Their help line texted to inform us that if they go out and it is a driving error, we would be charged for a towing fee for coming out. They also told us to drive back to switch it out even though we told them we were not able to drive it anywhere without being stuck in the sand.Texting and calling them, going back and forth we lost about an hour and a half of our time. Attached is our time stamp and communication at 10:49AM to 12:19pm. Steve told us he would give us one extra hour (which makes sense as we lost an hour of a return of 2pm) After waiting a period of time, The owner then brought out a second atv to replace ours but it had the same issue at 12:19pm. 1 hour and a half of non driving time. Eventually I had to drive back the 2nd broken atv myself (the one he brought out to us to replace the 1st broken one) Steve the owner then told us he will make it right as we were waiting losing time and having another faulty atv. At the end of our ride we spoke to Trent who said he will speak to Steve about the “I’ll make it right” but all we got was a laugh in our face/grin response stating I am just the messenger, this is what I was told to tell you “the extra hour was it.” The laugh was unprofessional and the “extra hour” given to us, we already paid for. The faulty atv was not our fault but their own. At the end of the day, they charged us for a two seater atv when we were given a 1 seater. Their response, it’s just “ 9 dollars”. Remember it’s 9 dollars difference per hour. Please go to sun buggy next door if you want real customer service as I rented from them before at Pismo but instead wanted to try Steve’s Atv but it was a major mistake. Beware. Renter.
Reasonable rental prices, with exception of the 100 deposit and extra for goggles etc... very fun and worthwhile stop. Appreciate efforts to make sure beginners are familiar with how to operate the ATV's. Video was helpful, but long. Thankful for shoes to use at no extra charge, as our son did not have closed toe shoes with him. Cleaning efforts were attempted on helmets & goggles, but could use a little improvement on that part with covid and all, but felt safe enough. Location and dune options was great! Definitely would reccomend!
