Off the beaten path. A jewel of a place.
I'm sure the locals want to keep it secret. This was a really pleasant, clean campsite, Right on Lake Simtustus, a manmade lake in a beautiful, narrow gorge. I'm told there's good fishing in the lake, and boat launching nearby.

Great place surrounded by beauty, nice cabins.
So glad we did find this campground and chose a cabin for a good price. Did sweep around some mattresses to sleep comfortable in the bulk beds. Great views. Quit. Nice lake (boatrides). Campfire. Eat outside. Electricity and Heater in cabin. Everything there for campers. We loved it !

Great Place To Stay
We spent a weekend in Madras to take in some events. Most everywhere was full up - no vacancy- but we were able to reserve a"Yome" at this very pleasant campground. It's quiet, right on the lake and has a variety of options. It has a store and cafe along with its marina and the sowers and bathroom facilities are clean and well maintained. Our Yome did not have electricity however the person anchorage loaned us a very nice electric lantern for our stay. I highly recommend!

The Best Place to Camp in Central Oregon
I have been camping at Pelton Park for years, and my latest trip with my grandson was just as great as every other trip. The park is clean and quiet. There is an awesome swim area, and playground for the kids. The store can provide you with anything you might have forgotten, cook you a meal, or rent you a kayak! Love this place.

Four Stars for Beauty
There are only electric hook ups here for your trailer or RV. You must have your own water and disposal tanks. The sites are blacktop and plenty wide and deep. You are unable to get TV reception or cellphone reception here, so if you are unable to disconnect for the time you are there, then this is not the place for you. The park is on Simtustus Lake. It's very beautiful, lots of green trees and grass. There was only one walking trail, which was rated moderate to difficult, with loose rocks at the beginning of it and at the end of it, that's why we chose not to go on it. There is a walking path along the lake that goes down to the marina. The office is very helpful. There is boating and swimming there. You can also fish, but one man we talked to said that the opposite side of the lake is on Indian Reservation, so you cannot dock on the opposite shore. They have a marina and a concession store. The restrooms appear to be kept clean and are checked often. They also have cabins for rent as well as Yomes (a combination of Yurts and Domes). In Warm Springs, which is nearby, they do have an Indian casino if you are interested. It is small, but clean.
