Juniper Hills Disc Golf Course

A permanent course built in 2005, this moderately hilly and lightly wooded 9-hole course is in Madras, about 45 minutes north of Bend. At least, it’s officially 9 holes (more on that later). You are likely to have a fairly private experience as the 2,883 foot course through high desert terrain doesn’t get a lot of traffic. The course is on the east side of Juniper Hills Park, a large recreational complex. Online reviews describe it as being a “well-planned, challenging community course” with beautiful mountain views and give it an overall score of B. People like the hole placement and setting and also compliment the course on being well marked, but describe the sand/dirt tee pads as uneven. The course is free to play and features DISCatcher targets. It’s possible to play 18 holes here; keep your eyes open for a user-made back 9 on the course that’s slightly more challenging.
