This picnic area is adjacent to the campground, which is located in an old growth forest alongside Salt Creek. Fishing and swimming are popular activities. There is a large picnic area along the creek with fire stoves (built in the 1930's by the Civilian Conservation Corps), picnic tables and a large grassy area for passive and active recreation.
