Thompson Reservoir

Thompson Reservoir provides excellent fishing opportunities for rainbow trout and large mouth bass.  Wildlife abounds at the Thompson Reservoir, initially established in 1922, also offers an abundance of wildlife.  Bald eagles and osprey nest in nearby trees.  Excellent habitat for grebes and migratory shorebirds is found around the reservoir along with habitat for white pelicans, sandhill cranes, and migratory waterfowl.  Mule deer and antelope are often seen near the reservoir.  Camping and campgrounds are found at the north end of the reservoir. 

Located just 13 miles south of Silver Lake.  Access is via Lake County Road 4-12 and Forest Service Road 28.
