Be sure to include this on your list while in Reedsport!
Highlight of our trip along the Oregon coast. The Center has large murals painted by a local artist and it has interactive areas for all age groups. Very informative.

Absolutely Amazing
This Discovery Center in the little town of Reedsport may be the most surprising and pleasant discovery in town. The quality of the displays felt to me like a team of Disney Imagineers came in and created this amazing attraction with no consideration of sticking to a budget. It is informative for those who wants to know more about the history of the area but also fun for youngsters who will actually learn something while being entertained. Highly recommend this place.

Worth a stop in Reedsport for Adults and Kids
I have lived in Western Oregon 14 years and still found this volunteer run center interesting and enjoyable. The Discovery Center is a place where kids and adults can enjoy leqrning about the Oregon Coast and its history, Its very well roganized and understandable. The hand painted murals, by Coos Bay artist Peggy O'Neill are absolutely GRAND. I enjoyed studying everyone of them, along with the well done displays of artifacts and photos. Its well worth spending and hour and more . Take your time walking through this hidden gem. It IS hidden. I have driven past the entrance many times without knowing it was there, so watch for the signs for the turn off Hwy 38 a few blocks from the junction at Hwy 101.

Wonderful fun museum with interactive exhibits.
We just loved this place! It was educational, fun and all the interactive exhibits worked perfectly! The volunteers were very gracious and informative. The Center is loaded with interesting information and is not too overwhelming. Be sure to explore the bay outside. At the center, there are several staircases and lookout platforms to scan the Reedsport Harbor and bay. Way fun. Highly recommend.

Great place to visit!
Lived in the area 3 years and had never been here. Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Very interesting place with cool information about area of Reedsport and the surrounding tidal areas. Lots of interactive things for kids to do as well as adults as you walk thru a forest themed environment. Videos and newspaper articles from the past as well documenting local floods, snowstorms, and other interesting news. The volunteer at the counter, Jonell, was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained the center and its history! Well worth our time and will bring back friends and family. Spent 2 hours there- definite A+ visit!!!
