Good times are back at the Wayfarer!
The Wayfarer Resort is a place that we used to take our kids (and the grandparents) for family vacations while they were growing up. It was always a favorite place for peace, getting away from it all, and fun in a nature setting. My son (now an adult in his mid-30's) and I recently decided to come back for the first time since the fire came through a few years ago. Although we were a little worried things would look too different, we are so glad we went! The cabins are gone, but other buildings are still there, and the grounds are lovely, lots of grassy lawn, trees, and flowers everywhere. The pond had lots of ducks and ducklings, geese and goslings. The McKenzie River is always beautiful and peaceful. We stayed in the large pet-friendly studio Hemlock with our dogs. Very clean and comfortable. The queen bed mattress was very comfortable, and my son says the sofa bed was too. The full kitchen had complete stove with oven, microwave, drip coffee maker, casserole dishes, mixing bowls, baking pans, and all the cooking utensils we could want, e.g. whisk, pizza cutter, egg beater, knives of all sizes, cheese graters, etc. The front porch and back deck were both enjoyable to sit on and enjoy the views. The bathroom had a shower/tub, lots of space for toiletries, and a hairdryer. Do remember to bring your own shampoo/creme rinse. I can't say enough about how nice and helpful the manager Taira was! She was so welcoming and eager to hear if there was anything we needed that she could get for us. She kindly provided extra blankets and towels for wet dog paws and anything else we asked for. I am so glad to see the Wayfarer get back on its feet for other families to create special memories with their children.

Serenity
I have stayed in one of the one bedroom cabins on the creek on 5 or 6 occasions for several days each visit. It is one of my favorite places in the world! Not fancy but extremely comfortable and homey in a gorgeous relaxing setting. It’s a wonderful place to bring your dog and unwind with friends and family. As soon as I get there, I feel peace. Surrounded on 2 sides by river and creek. Listening to the rapids/waterfall while sitting on your deck is wonderful. Fresh hazelnuts. Barbecue and kitchen. Fireplace. Comfortable beds. I can hardly wait to return.

Great location + variety of lodging
We stayed at the Wayfarer for 3 nights thanks to a friend's recommendation. The property is gorgeous, well maintained, and offers lots of recreational opportunities for families including tennis, volleyball, basketball, fishing pond for kids, horseshoes, etc. We stayed in a one bedroom cabin on the creek; in the future I'd spring for an accommodation on the river. Perfect for groups, family reunions, friends retreats, weddings, anniversary celebrations. Large beach area, fire pit, comfy chairs enabled us to enjoy the river day and night. Cabins are well equipped with kitchen necessities + charcoal bbq's on the deck. Very clean & pet friendly.

Amazingly gorgeous and absolutely peaceful!
We were part of a large business retreat, my husbands meetings kept him during the day, but I got to enjoy the river, the creek, the pond, the solitude, and the time spent there. the cabins are perfectly comfortable, with a kitchen to cook in and w a fantastic view! I got to watch countless ducks and geese make their landing on the river, the creek is a great burbler and the pond evokes nostalgia! By the way, thank you for arranging such great weather while we were there ;)

Three wonderful days at a hidden jem
From the time I checked in until checkout the staff were friendly and helpful to myself and my 4 legged companion Lady. The cabin was clean and we had everything we needed to make ourselves comfortable and relaxed. We just added the food we brought with us. A perfect getaway for reading a good book, watching the wildlife and action on the McKenzie river. Plenty of room to roam and take walks with your special pooch also. Thank you Mike and everyone for the special visit.
