At this luxury hotel, all rooms feature Serta Presidential Pillow Top beds with down comforters, terrycloth bath robes and Aveda spa products. There is an evening wine and cheese reception, and night time cookies with milk.

Grants Pass was a layover on our travels and we could have stayed in a freeway chain hotel for less cost but chose the lodge with hopes of having a river view room. The majority of the rooms had river views but the room assigned to us did not. Based on the parking lot, the hotel had only a handful of guests so we could have been assigned a view room. Despite this disappointment, the room we were assigned was nice - clean and large but probably no different than the chain hotels.
This is an old motel with a cozy lobby. However you are not staying in the lobby. Our room had paint peeling in the bathroom and stained carpet and a sticky remote. They have breakfast which is similar to a holiday inn express. Not very appetizing. They have box wine for evening wine hour and some crackers and a spreadable cheddar. They have cookies in the evening with drip coffee and tea. These are nice touches but the quantity over quality principle is in effect. The room carpet was stained and had a smell. The mattress is extremely soft and has a plastic cover so that every time you move.. it makes a sound. Good variety of Tv channels. Cost should be around $80 to 100 to be worth it.
This is a clean, but rustic-feeling hotel, located on the Rouge River. Room is spacious. Staff was friendly upon arrival. We were hungry and walked 50 feet to an excellent sushi restaurant on a Monday night. It would be interesting to stay during the summer. It’s probably real nice.
We had a singularly unpleasant experience with our room, “The Cottage”. The room itself was fine, but we had to search around in the dark to find it, then struggle to open the two locks on the front gate and one lock on the door with no lights. We had to park our car in an isolated, pitch dark parking spot. There was a chain link fence next to the property and someone was on the other side walking around smoking in the dark. It was uncomfortable to say the least. I think if you got another one of the main lodge rooms, the experience would have been better. The breakfast, while simple, was good and the evening happy hour and cookie hour seemed pleasant, though we were unable to participate in either one because of our timing.
Good view of the river from our second floor balcony. No elevator though, and the breakfast area is in another building which might be a pain if it is raining. There is a gate system or entry through the lobby to get into the hotel room area. In the evening they have wine, cheese & crackers in the early evening, then cookies and milk from 7-9. Unfortunately we didn't sample these due to our schedule. Across the road from Taprock restaurant, but there is a tunnel under the busy road; part of the riverwalk area, which has a mural and sculptures. Breakfast included sausage patties,scrambled eggs, biscuits and gravy as well as the usual breads and bagels. There were only 2 cereals, wheat flakes and granola, which was disappointing to kids.
