The hotel could easily be worth four stars, but for the lack of some basic features. First the good news: the location (adjacent to Tigard's Bridgeport Mall) is excellent. So is the basic structure -- when you first walk in the lobby lives up to the name "Grand", although there could have been a bit more furnishing. For that matter, the large rooms are also quite large and tastefully furnished. So what's the problem? A lot of small things: no in-room safes, no night-lights, no morning newspapers (even from a vending machine), inadequate towel racks in the bathroom, inadequate drinking glasses, no food or snack service of any kind after breakfast (the hotel doesn't need a full service restaurant, but why not have a small bar somewhere in that vast lobby area? even a stand-up bar would be okay. And the hotel has a very odd policy of providing NO housekeeping services on alternate days of a multi-day stay. I can understand the signage that states linen and towels will be changed only on request, but not even a room freshening and make-up-the-bed on the second -and fourth (?)- day?? (As to that linen signage, the hotel - like many competitors - think it's wise to make it sound like all this is being done in the name of environmentalism. But if the hotel really cared about the environment, it would also have 'weak and strong flush' toilets -- and, in seasons where it's warm, would make the bed without so much extra cover, so that guests would not need to keep the room temperature so low.)

This place checks all the boxes: Super Clean - check. Super Friendly - check. Super great free breakfasts - check. Super Value - Check. Why would anyone ever stay anywhere else?

Great hotel with great amenities
We enjoyed our stay at the Grand Hotel in the family suite. It worked well for our family with two queens and one king bed. The hotel is conveniently located near I-5 for easy access. The pool and hot tub were clean and nicely heated. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. The service was excellent. Highly recommend.

Wonderful
My husband absolutely loved the king sized bed. Room got nice and cool which made it super easy to sleep in.

Grand time at The Grand!
We had a large group staying in Portland as we traveled for a wedding. The staff was incredibly helpful and happy to help. The complimentary was quite good and it was well staffed. It was nice that the selection changed from morning to morning. The location was perfect for us to venture out for hikes and exploring Portland as well as getting to the wedding venue. We had an excellent experience.
