Great property, but noisy late
We had a nice room on the second floor and everything was as promised, the staff was excellent, the entryway is beautiful and there’s plenty of free parking. But, we endured probably 90 minutes of pounding noise from the floor above us and even after a call to the staff at about 11:30 PM there was still another half an hour of noise that kept us awake. If we stay here again it would only be on the fourth floor, top floor.
Good location but beds were too soft and room is too noisy
The location is right off highway 5 and there’s a shopping center and Wholefoods next to the hotel so very convenient. The front desk was friendly and welcoming. However, the room was very noisy, the fridge in the room was making noise constantly and there was a humming noise from outside the room which made me hard to fall asleep. Also, the beds were super soft if you don’t like soft beds then this is not the right place for you.
slightly above average
Online reservation - simple enough but the numerous text messages were unnecessary - some people might like being that informed, but most do not. Check-in - The young kid at the front desk was pleasant, and friendly check-in took about 5min. Room - We went with the King Suite with Jacuzzi tub - Room was clean, no odd odors, couple of things to note though - the carpets are starting to look quite dated there were a few stains around the room - but nothing to be spooked by. Microwave is grossly underpowered a 2 min cup of water was barely warm. The bathroom was large, separate tub and shower, which seemed kinda odd - why would you put a second tub in a room with a 2 person tub already? Water pressure was good, and ample hot water. One key thing to note - The room was not as quiet as one would normally expect - the HVAC was quite loud, but worked quite good - When the HVAC unit kicked off, the noise from the hallway echoed - and the parking area - semi-directly beneath our 3rd floor window - you could hear the various vehicles that were in and out over night - as well as conversations from people below. Checkout - just as quick and painless as check-in. Couple things to consider - there is no breakfast buffet as advertised (yes I know COVID is still a concern) instead they are offering a pre-order limited breakfast bag - basically a piece of fruit, a drink, and an entrée (jimmy dean sausage egg cheese buscuit, boiled egg, bagel with cream cheese, oatmeal, or cereal) We did not make it down to the pool / hot-tub area so no review. Social distancing was practiced on-site, but masks wearing was not enforced (maybe because there were not many people in the common areas) All in all - not a bad experience, and would certainly return.
Pleasant and comfortable.
We had a very pleasant stay. The rooms were very large and the king sized bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was unusual in that it was extra-large and included a shower and a separate bathtub. The hotel was very quiet at night and the AC suited our needs both during the day and night. It is a super location that is right off the freeway, yet we heard no freeway noise. The hotel is in very good condition with helpful staff. The décor is very pleasing with pleasant color choices. When we were there Covid rules were still in effect requiring masks and a free carry–to-go breakfast of which you have three choices that could include hardboiled egg or hot cereal, juice, and a tasty cinnamon pastry.
Lovely service, lovely place
Found this gem late at night traveling with my two children and sister. Jeff not only made booking our stay easy, but got us set with grab and go breakfast and a morning swim with the kids in the pool. Really can not recommend the Grand Hotel enough to families traveling in the area. Well, well worth it!
