My partner and I were driving down the Oregon coast last week. There were not many options for lunch, so we stopped at the Drift Inn. The service and food was good. We were surprised to see that the bill charged an automatic 20% tip! We were not advised upfront about the 20% tips. There were NO signs to advise the patrons. Of course we would have tipped. I feel what they did was POOR business practice. We will not be going there ever again.

Very comfortable bed. We had an unusual situation and Bev really went above and beyond to help us out. There were no rooms available one of the nights and my pregnant daughter was going to have to sleep in the car and Bev called a local competitor for us. We stayed in a "pedal out" room, showers were great!

This restaurant charges a mandatory 20 percent gratuity on to go orders! I’m not a fan of this at all. I went in and ordered an $11 item to go, and a $2.00 was added to my order! When I objected, the manager said basically, that is the way it is so they can pay their staff a decent wage and she laughed in my face when I said I don’t agree with charging this on a to go order. It seems they are really taking advantage of customers after the pandemic. I won’t come here again and I think others should boycott this place based on this practice. (By the way, they don’t care if you do).

Perfect ocean stay
Such a great stay. Generous, brightly decorated room with kitchen and good warmth, overlooks mouth of Yachats river. Such a comfortable sleep and quiet. Great restaurants downstairs and nearby. Two block walk to tide pools and Yachats state park. Great to watch tides go in and out from large front windows.

Great place if you don't mind BUGS
We stayed at the Drift Inn in Yachats on July 27, 2021. We stayed in the Raindrop room and our first impression was great. Nice view and great location. While we were sleeping my wife felt like bugs were crawling on her face during the night. When we got up the next morning she checked the sheets and found BUGS!! The only showed up as small dots on the sheets but when we zoomed in with our phones we saw that they were in fact bugs crawling on the sheets, a lot of them. We contacted the management and sent photos and videos and insisted on a refund on the room which she agreed to. We then got the hell out of there and spent four hours at the laundromat to ensure we didn’t take these to our next stop. We only received a partial credit and they lied and said it was because of scratchy sheets. We thought we were being very generous by only wanting a full refund as it cut our visit short and we spent a half of day washing all of our belongings to get rid of the bugs. I would not recommend this place to anyone, not only because of the bugs but the fact that we were lied to and the way they handled the issue.
