The hotel was clean and comfortable for a fair price. Our waiter in the morning, Bobby, was very friendly and he's been working at the Benson for over 40 years. I enjoyed hearing his stories of the people he met including Jerry Garcia. Can't wait to come back.

Excellent experience at The Benson
I enjoyed my stay at the Benson. The room was quiet and comfortable, and the staff was very kind and attentive. Richie in the Palm Court restaurant was very kind and cheerfully served me decaf coffee with cream every morning as part of the complimentary coffee service. I will definitely come back to the Benson for my next trip.

Bucket List Stay
I have wanted to stay at The Benson for a very long time, and finally booked a stay for a romantic weekend. The hotel is beautiful! I always struggle with sleeping at hotels, and I had the best sleep I have ever had in a hotel. I interacted with staff very little, as I had no need to, but what few interactions I had (a very pretty girl with long white blonde hair and a tall, younger gentleman) were pleasant, helpful and friendly. Being in downtown pearl was great, and we were easily able to walk 3/4 of our trip from the hotel. The mini stairwell museum was also a cool fun find! 100% would stay again and absolutely recommend!

Family event weekend
The Benson is a favorite place for us to stay in Portland. The rooms are beautiful and easy for us to have our family come be with us before going out! The views are spectacular. Service from the hotel staff is exceptional. Starting with checking in and help getting us settled in our rooms (moved our adult children to another room when there were issues with a/c), great suggestions for other activities. It's centrally located for activities in Portland, it was very east to get to our party from the hotel either walking or taking an Uber, I love not having to worry about parking in Portland. The lobby is a cozy place with the fireplace to hang out and enjoy friends and family. The hotel is an amazing building with all of the marble, carved wood and restored elegance. We enjoyed breakfast both days with our servers Richie and Bobbi, who shared their many experiences in the hotel and many famous visitors over their many years of employment at the Benson, the service was exceptional. Looking forward to our next visit!
