We hosted a business meeting at this hotel in July, and every part of the experience exceeded our expectations. Kelly made contracting smooth and easy, Samantha was a pleasure to work with on meeting planning, and Oliver Wright's AV support was excellent throughout. The meeting spaces and guest rooms were both outstanding, and the banquet staff went above and beyond. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for any business meeting.

Another wonderful stay at The Benson Hotel in Portland
I've reviewed The Benson Hotel in Portland on Trip Advisor before. It got top marks from me last year during the holidays. During my recent July 2026 visit, once again, I believe it to be the finest hotel in Portland. It's such a grand hotel with historic atmosphere, located right in the heart of downtown Portland. You really get your money's worth in value, amenities, peace and quiet as the rooms are so noise-free. It's such an oasis in the big city. What causes The Benson to really stand out are the amazing hospitality professionals always on duty at this property. When I arrived, I was so warmly greeted (as always) by Lucas, Cait, Zoe, and Will at the front desk. They took extra care to make sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. Like when I locked my keys in my room. They were so helpful in my recovery. And checking in by text to insure things were going well throughout my stay. In the hallway I ran into one of The Benson's hard-working housekeeping pros, Anthelis, and she made certain I had extra towels and that all the room details were in perfect condition... as they always are. The cleanliness of the room was incredible. I was celebrating my birthday that weekend and staying at The Benson was the biggest treat of my Portland trip. I live in Seattle and my wife and I are contemplating a trip to the Rose City for our 50th Wedding Anniversary - and there is only one place we'd stay: The Benson. We've stayed at The Benson many times during our marriage and it just seems the ideal place for our celebration. We know that Ryan, their General Manager, will always see to it that we are well cared for. I can easily recommend The Benson to anyone looking for a great hotel in Portland... and they also have meeting rooms of all sizes for business gatherings, wedding receptions and events of all kinds. The Benson would be an excellent venue for all.

Fabulous weekend stay downtown Portland!
Super quality stay at this hotel. Great location downtown, classy, clean, well maintained property. Great staff, friendly and helpful, headed by Bobby at the restaurant. Bobby is friendly, enthusiastic and super helpful. Come see him in the mornings in the restaurant for help, you won’t be disappointed. Great recommendations for breakfast from the front desk. Cheryl’s and Screen Door were awesome! Rooms are spacious and clean. We will be back again to stay at this hotel!

Benson Hotel, Will Come Back Again
My stay at the Benson was AMAZING! Everything is within walking distance, the interior is well kept, and the employees are extremely helpful. The valets were prompt, and the dining staff gave helpful hints on activities in Portland. I also wanted to give a shout out to Gessena (hope I'm spelling that right) at the front desk. I needed to extend our stay an extra day, and she handled it no problem. Over the course of our trip, every morning my sister and I came downstairs Gessena was at the front desk, would smile at us (more of a, "hey, its that one girl from before," look) and would say, "have a good day!" If the Benson is reading this, she needs a raise, she made the experience for me.

Lovely experience and will be back:)
The facility was breathtaking with great food and live jazz. Bobby was so kind and made the experience even more personable and special. l I felt right at home with his wonderful company and guidance on local places. I can’t wait to explore!
