Located just off the main highway, this hotel was quiet, clean and comfortable and at an affordable price. It’s a large hotel and given the number of rooms, there was little noise. The room included breakfast, which although basic, was OK. The only downside was the vinyl plank flooring in the room which made the floor very cold.
My construction company reserved 3 rooms for a week stay and I was charged twice for each room. A total of 6 times. I reached out to the front desk, manager and owner and no answer or refund. I will be disputing this with my Credit card company. (Three charges showed pending and charged sept 17) all for the same week.
This motel is very run down, from the outside to the inside. We stayed on the 1st floor so I did not see the 2nd or 3rd. The flowers (the only living vegetation on the entire property) inside the two small pots outside the door were almost dead, the first floor hallway carpet was filthy, the rooms seemed fairly clean, it was a depressing place to stay....find another place, even if you pay more you will feel better.
This is a Redneck Motel. This was a great motel location 25 years ago. Now it is a run-down. As you arrive you will notice that the parking lot scrubs have no water and lots of weeds. Construction materials have been sitting by the front door for some time. The pool water is neglected and not quite clean. Is it safe to swim in was our question. The cement around the pool is broken. The bar to enter the pool is loose as the cement is broken. If you like non-repaired old and torn down then you can join the Rednecks. This is your motel. On sight next to the freeway was an old old old motor home. I think it is where "Snots" the dog lives. Like the one "Snots" lived in. On the brighter side the room was clean for the most part. It smelled like bleach. Standard practice is that they don't clean your room each day unless requested. Up and down the halls there are bags or trash. Don't try for an early checkin. Wait until 3pm. Staff was friendly. The elevator is not working correctly. The sign was up saying it doesn't work but did work very very slowly. Take your breakfast with you as it will be a long slow trip to the second level. A non-painter painted the bathroom. A non-tiler tiled the bathroom. If it was an inch off it is just right. Don't cut the tile to fit. This is a Redneck motel. Don't paint to the trim. Leave the old paint 1 inch from the toilet paper dispenser.
Great Hotel!! Stayed here a couple of times, always had a good experience. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel is clean and centrally located. The housekeeping staff is friendly and the lady at check-in (blonde hair), sorry can’t remember her name, is always very nice and friendly. Will definitely stay there again, next time I’m in The Dalles.
