Front desk very nice and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, but the hallway smelled like marijuana. Breakfast choices a bit on the slim side but not too bad. There are many eating options in the neighborhood, and the hotel is far enough from the freeway to minimize traffic noise.
Disappointing because they have the ability to make it great!
Stayed in this hotel while traveling through town just for the night. Hadn’t been there since they remodeled a few years ago. The remodeling was for not as things were not clean, items were stained in room, i.e. shower curtain, and even the shower wall. The hot and cold was opposite in the bathroom as well. The light didn’t work in the room. The clock was set to a completely wrong time. Breakfast was served, however, it was pretty subpar even for a continental breakfast. While they had the traditional waffle iron, “butter” was served in a big communal country crock container. Peanut butter and jelly were also served in a large communal container. Orange juice was not orange juice. It was sad because for $150. I would’ve expected more out of Red Lion.
The bedcover had a spot on it and two pillowcases looked like they had shoe prints on them. The bathroom was ridiculously small - it looked like you had to stand in the tub to close the door. After being in the room for about 10 minutes, we requested a refund and went elsewhere.
We arrived at 4:30 pm to check in (check in is at 3:00) room was not ready, did not get into the room until 5:20. lighting in the room is very poor, was not told that there is a $50 deposit for staying in the room. For the price that we paid it would have been better to stay at one of the other hotels that is close by. Would not recommend staying at this one.
Where is a plug
This was an interesting visit. We were breaking a long road trip and had never stayed in Ontario before. We arrived early and we were given our room. The front desk pointed out we would be better off parking at the other end of the building - they were correct. The sad part was room service were still in our room. We had time and this was no issue for us to wait. Back to the front desk area to wait with coffee. No coffee - but a new batch was quickly made for us. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was ready and so we wnet back - and this is where things go further awry, when we discover the room was not what we thought we had booked. Not sure whose fault this was but did highlight the online booking of rooms was a little confusing. Could we fix this? To fix it we would have to cancel and rebook. That required a cancelation fee - less than 24 hours. So, we stayed where we were and made do. I needed to use the Internet, which was free, but finding a power outlet required we had to move the furniture. The desk/table was clear meant as just a coffee table. The front desk's recommendation for the evening meal was awesome The breakfast is minimalist but free - items like a waffle maker, coffee, hard boiled eggs and yogurt. As suggested in another review, we sat and eat but most arrived grabbed and went. That said, I would happily stay here again. We had a great night's sleep.
