Rockin' Staff!
Because I really needed a break from full time caregiving, even though my husband and dog came alone, we enjoyed a few days away from home. When we arrived on the evening of April 29th, I discovered the reservation had been made for the previous night (I did it!) Have never done that before but the friendly, compassionate staff and the miracle worker manager (Rachel) understood the situation and only charged us for the night we actually stayed, even though she didn't have to do that! You gals rock!

Typical red lion bit their advertised EV chargers are not powered.
Typical red lion. Clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy. Good breakfast.. Near bend and multiple highways. Dog friendly. Landscaping a bit sparse compared to the locale (not counting highway). Only problem is they advertise EV chargers and while they exist they aren’t powered on, so therefore they are useless. If you don’t need to charge a car and you like red lions, stay here.

Red Lion - Excellent Experience
I recently hosted an event at the Riverhouse convention center and used the Red Lion for overflow lodging. I received very positive reviews from those who stayed there. I was very impressed with their staff’s professionalism as well as all the amenities you would expect. The staff were also very friendly and helpful - providing advice on local restaurants. The location is great, they offer a free breakfast, and the updated rooms are clean and comfortable. I will definitely use them again. Additionally, the hotel was very quiet during our stay, in fact the parking lot had several police cars parked as guests!

Avoid
One reason it’s not the lowest rating is the food. Breakfast is decent. The door had a notable gap in the bottom and edge. Cold air, light, and noise from the busy roadway were not acceptable. There was one pretty disruptive patron at the hotel while we were there and staff seemed complacent.

Homeless nearby
This is our “go to” hotel when we visit family in Bend. We’ve stayed at others in each end of town but no longer do because the homeless are around them. But now the homeless have moved around Red lion. Do not park on the back side of the hotel. Homeless are living there. Bend is become known for the homeless even in the winter.
