Staff Smokes In Lobby -- Beware!
My family and I have been a guest at the Pine Ridge Inn for a number of years, continuing to support them since they are one of the last remaining locally owned hotels in Bend. We have always had a pleasant experience, and I will not neglect to mention that the rooms are quite spacious, the continental breakfast and fireplaces in each room are a nice touch, and we feel the location (about 5 minutes by car or 30 minutes by foot) to downtown Bend is perfect. These are among the reasons that keep us coming back to the Pine Ridge Inn after all these years! I also want to give a special shout-out to Ginny, who is incredibly helpful and has never failed to provide wonderful restaurant suggestions in the area after all these years. Thanks, Ginny! Unfortunately, I witnessed something I haven't seen in several decades (!) upon a recent visit to the inn, that seemed serious enough to merit a review. My family was coming downstairs for the hotel's breakfast and somehow must have been quiet enough, down the stairs, that the woman at the front desk didn't notice us. She was sitting behind the front desk, perhaps looking at her phone or something behind the counter, and was SMOKING...yes, on shift, visible to the public, and inside the property. When she finally saw us a few feet away, she went to extinguish her " HABIT " and waved away the smoke, perhaps to cover it up. Of course, it was not my place to comment -- what good can one guest do -- and I was also not 100 % certain that smoking is forbidden inside. (A simple Google search confirmed this) I do not wish to exaggerate the scale of this --- but I felt it was only proper to comment so that future guests may be aware of this hotel's policy on smoking. If they accept employees smoking on shift, who is to say what goes on elsewhere on the property! Thankfully there were my family's 4 sets of eyes that could confirm the sighting. But, these suspicions were also confirmed the next day, when we were returning from a hike and noticed a man talking to Ginny downstairs. He, too, had apparently witnessed this same employee smoking and was politely talking to Ginny discussing what he observed. Unfortunately, I did not have the time to make a similar complaint, and perhaps I should have done so instead of posting more 'publicily' here, but it seemed worthwhile to, at the very least, have a record. Thank you.

Nice big rooms and location
Beautiful huge rooms. Everything comfy. Only downside was that I was freezing at night - have this always on air vent shooting cold air into room. So I covered the vent with furniture! Last night I realizes that there was a radiator in the closet. No idea why they have this air vent. They did give me an extra blanket and radiator so was my mistake that i didnt ask esrlier. They do have a firepkace but i didnt inow how to work it - so my fault. Perfect location overlooking the river. Free parking. Walked to town every day - for me was 5 min walk down to river and onto walking path that encircles river along town edge. I would highly recommend this place! Make sure u inow how to ise fire place and get radiator out of closet and asked for extra blanket! Otherwise book - staff in lobby so helpful and excellent service

great location
very accommodating- roomy - nice touch with the fireplace. I wish it had a stronger water pressure in the shower. The Original Pancake House was across the street. Our room was very quiet and with the curtains pulled- it was a dark room when sleeping- loved it

What a Gem!!!
Usually, I stay with family during my visits to Bend. However, this trip required me to seek accommodation elsewhere. Favoring boutique hotels over chain ones, I looked into my choices and found the Pine Ridge Inn, which had excellent reviews and an ideal location. I was amazed at the size of the room and the amenities. Breakfast consisted of amazing items from a local bakery! If you're looking for a wonderful place to stay in Bend, I highly recommend Pine Ridge Inn.

Excellent location, excellent hotel, friendly staff
Loved this hotel. We got upgraded to the suite and wow what a room. Double balcony, gorgeous views and super large. Bed was so comfortable and the room was so quite. Huge bathroom and plenty of storage space. Has a gas fire too so cold nights will be super cosy. Other rooms looked spacious and hotel was very clean. If I had one thing I would criticise is breakfast. Choice is extremely limited, lady can be a tiny bit abrupt and I feel they would do better doing some deal with the pancake house and not offer or upgrade what they do offer. Staff on reception are very friendly and the free drink was a great touch. Would definitely stay here again.
