Great location!
Nice hotel with a very nice and secluded location on a ridge above Gold Beach. Very pleasant outdoor area with, among other things, benches, and barbecue facilities. This was a pleasant surprise and diversion from the motels that are usually right next to the main street or a freeway. We were greeted in a friendly and professional manner when we arrived, and I got a positive impression of the service. Seemed to be a well-run place. As for the rooms, this is a very standard Motel 6, as you would like to know it from countless another Motel 6. Decent level of cleanliness, although the floors could well be a little cleaner. Otherwise, there was a somewhat strange/old smell in the room we had, but it must be said that there was also a lot of smoke in Gold Beach due to wildfires not far from Port Orford. The smell in the room could be related to smoke. So, smoke from the wildfires spoiled the experience a bit, but of course this is not the hotel's fault. I would very much like to return to M6 in Gold Beach the next time I am on a road trip along the California and Oregon coasts.

Average and convenient
The value is there for the price. We scheduled a getaway from the smoke of the Rogue Valley and Motel 6 had a room, so we grabbed it. The front desk service and other staff were very friendly. The bed was OK in our room. There are a few HBO channels and many cable TV channels. The bathroom was clean. Just two issues for us: 1) being an older hotel, it's a bit noisy with walls that aren't very sound-deadening. And 2) there aren't any outlets by the bed stands. There is a strip outlet provided on the bureau. You'll see from the photos that the parking lot butts right up to the rooms, so early risers are easily heard as they start their cars and converse in the parking lot (especially if they talk loudly). Dogs are welcome! One warning - be VERY careful pulling out of their driveway onto Jerry's Flat - especially watch for vehicles coming from the left. If you can, have your passenger look to the right while you watch left. Gold Beach needs to put a sign to people entering Jerry's Flat from US 101 - they are always going fast.

New Opinion of Motel 6
I have had bad experiences with Motel 6 in the past and rarely find king size beds available. We were recently in Gold Beach Oregon and had a booking on a Jet Boat on the Rogue River. The booking lady at Jerry's said to check out the Motel 6 which was very close by and said it was very good. We were almost not going to do that, when we decided to check it out. Much to our surprise they did have a King size bed. The rooms were spacious and clean. The personnel were very efficient and friendly and the room even had a view. The price was reasonable.

Very grateful!
This motel was very clean and safe. The location was great. We had a very pleasant sleep before getting back on the road for our trip. We came in very late from California. I was very stressed because we were so late. What I really appreciated is that the gentleman at the desk was so kind. I appreciated that very much.

Good for a overnight stay on your travels!
One of the better Motel 6’s we’ve stayed at lately. Tub/shower curtain could have been a bit cleaner, but otherwise it was clean and the staff were very helpful when we had a flat tire in getting us the local AAA business. Even though it’s in the 101 it’s quite with the way it’s situated.
