Expensive for what you get
I reviewed this place in 2024 and we decided to give it another chance. Their phone communication is much better and you actually can speak to someone who is familiar with the property. The prices are higher and it is expensive for what you get. We were given the bottom floor of an old remodeled 2 story house. My heart dropped when I saw it as it looks like a tenement house from the outside. Our unit must have been the garage. It is spacious and clean but the layout weird. One bathroom to 3 bedrooms way off in the back. The kitchen has very limited essentials, no dish towels, dish drainer, only 2 mugs and only one old pan. It is a bit dumpy for the price.

June 20 - June 22nd
This has been a favorite getaway for us for 15 years. However, This last trip was the worst ever. Not only did they increase their fates by 200% (they charged $743 per room without occupancy or city tax) and charged another $10 for wood, kindling & paper. It used to be included in the cost of the room. And, you had to cart it yourself from the check-in office to your cottage. and left t me tell you about the amenities -- One bath towel & 1 washcloth; the makeup remover swipes were so old, they were rancid! The soap bar was so old it was cracked! They certainly lost this customer.

Great place!
I will definitely plan on a return trip! This property is located off of Highway 101 and next to the Pacific Ocean. It is far enough off the street that you hear no traffic noise, only the surf pounding nearby. The units consist of some cabins, duplexes, and some motel type units. The grounds are immaculate with the gardens carefully maintained. Check-in is one building to the north of this complex since it was purchased by them in 2023. You can’t go wrong with this wonderful property!

Not happy with the new ownership after 40 years of going there being family owned. We just stayed there our last time!
Have been going to Ireland’s Rustic Lodges since 1984! It was a family owned property for many years. We could reserve any particular cabin we wanted if it was vacant when we wanted to go there. We reserved a particular cabin for october 11-12-24 (this past weekend actually. Went we arrived they told us it was not available because of no heat in the cabin( electric fireplace broken) So, ok, no problem we got another cabin. Well the cabin we wanted was available because it was occupied by two different family’s while we were there! They used to supply firewood for the cabins with a fireplace like the one they switched us to, but the new owners quit doing that. Ok, no big deal we will go buy some . The pictures that you look at on the computer with beautiful pine wood on the walls of the old cabins are old pictures! They painted them white! The office people are rude, they say check-in time is 4:00 pm but we couldn’t get in because our’s wasn’t cleaned yet! People going there for the first time will never know how the big corporation that bought the family out has pretty much ruined one of oregon last Gems, what a shame !

Location great, a bit funky
We stayed in Laguna Beach House which is pet free and a nice walk to the beach. . The house is clean, beds and couches comfortable, brightly lit with a large kitchen. The house is a bit funky- one bedroom door has no latch so does not stay closed, hanging lamp is 4 ft high so you run the risk of hitting your head and the kitchen is equipped with a few dishes, cups and silverware, lots of pots and pans, coffeemaker and nothing else. We had to go asking for dishwashing soap and dish towels. It is nearly impossible to get someone local on the phone to answer questions about the beach houses. The hotel operator owns several hotels in Gold Beach and Southern California, and the telephone service only makes reservations so communication is poor.
