Stayed in the Brown Pelican room in late July 2025. We don’t travel with our pets so we rarely stay at establishments that aggressively advertise as being pet friendly. We didn’t know what to expect of the room with respect to pet doors or pet hair. The room was amazing! No odors. No pet hair. No dirt or bugs or anything that might be off putting. The beds were comfortable with ample pillows. Everything was clean and perfect. The grounds were well maintained and nicely landscaped. All staff members were courteous and helpful. The property is only a few feet from the ocean and the coastal walking trail right behind the motel is perfect for people of all ages. As an added perk, just a few feet away from the motel are some of the best tidal pools we have ever seen on the Oregon Coast (try to visit them during a negative low tide for the best experience). Overall - a fantastic place to stay on the Oregon Coast. Great room and staff. Very close to Yachats. Convenient distance to Newport. Very near some excellent hiking.

Courteous staff from beginning to the end!
From our first phone call to make reservations to turning in our keys we felt important! The room was filled with all of the amenities that made our stay pleasant from the bedside lamps that were also night lights to the abundance of plugs for our electronics. The bathroom was sparkling clean with ample space to put our toiletries. We appreciated the coffee/tea service in the room and the microwave and refrigerator. Being steps from the Ocean meant the most!

The room was okay and staying right on the ocean was cool.....literally. It was very breezy and cool, so we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we might have with better weather. The room was clean and comfortable, and coffee was available in the lobby.

"Love and Lighthouse Hideaway" guest house rental is great for families with pet
We already knew that we enjoy the Fireside Motel in Yachats for stays at the Oregon coast with our dog since the location is excellent for beautiful coastline, watching waves crash, and the place is always clean and comfortable with very friendly staff. This time, we had a larger family group visiting us and we wanted to show off the coast to them. Luckily, while checking the price for 3 hotel rooms to accommodate the entire group, we discovered that the Fireside now also has a rental house called "Love and Lighthouse Hideaway" that is pet friendly and big enough for our group: 5 adults, one child, one dog. The stay was lovely from start to finish: Check in at the Fireside front desk, where you get a warm welcome and dog biscuit and keys, to then enter a bright, clean house under the trees just a few steps away from the shore. Beds were comfortable, everything worked, living room with picture window to the shore, nice big functioning kitchen and kitchen table. (Do bring your essentials such as coffee and spices with you if you plan to make meals). Not cheap but better than 3 hotel rooms and much more convenient and fun for our larger group. We recommend this place if you want to explore this wonderful stretch of coastline with multiple travelers and pet.

Will stay longer next time!
Fabulous ocean view from my little deck. The king bed room was large, comfortable, clean. There is a complimentary charge for an electric car. Wished I could stay longer.
