**Opened Water Bottle and Disappointing $15 Breakfast — Not Worth the Stay

Our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton was very disappointing. When we got into our room, the complimentary bottled water that was provided was **already opened and had clearly been drank from. That is extremely concerning from a cleanliness and hygiene standpoint, and it made us question how thoroughly the room had actually been checked and prepared for our arrival. We also went down to breakfast expecting it to be complimentary, only to find out that it was $15 per person. For that price, we expected a decent breakfast buffet. Unfortunately, the food was no better than an ordinary hotel buffet, and much of it was **old, dry, and unappetizing. It certainly wasn’t worth $15 per person. Between finding a previously opened bottle of water in our room and being disappointed with the quality of the breakfast, this was not the experience we expected from a DoubleTree by Hilton. Unfortunately, based on this stay, I would have a hard time recommending this hotel.

I spent one night at the DoubleTree by Hilton Portland - Tigard in August, 2026. My experience was "meh", so to speak. Let me explain. This is a hotel wedged into perhaps the smallest lot I've ever seen for a "suburban" style hotel. Parking is in part in front of the hotel, part under it, and part up a steep hill. So, right away you're pulling into a tight spot with other cars on both sides. I managed to squeeze out of my vehicle. while holding my door to stop it from slamming into the downhill car. I checked in. I was given a parking pass (they charge for parking here in the Portland suburbs -- terrible policy, in my view). When I got back to my room, I realized I was not offered any chocolate chip cookies. I went back down to get a couple. The room was fine. It suffered from (1) poor lighting (they've adopted, for some of the fixtures, the terrible Marriott practice of dim LED lights), and (2) sink in the bedroom. Of course, that means if the wife gets up early to get ready the whole room is lit up since otherwise she can't use the sink. Since I was alone, this wasn't a problem, but "sink in the room" is a terrible design. I noticed at check-in that the hotel celebrated a youth soccer tournament, and it was apparent that the place was chock full of parents and young pre-teen and early teen girls there for the tournament. Well, I got up early, and headed to breakfast at 7:15am. Despite being only 15 minutes after the start of breakfast, everything was cleaned out -- there were early matches, and about all of the contestants crowded into the breakfast space. A tiny bit of fruit, a spoonful of eggs, no silverware, and one remaining plate. If the hotel hadn't been advertising their affiliation with the tournament, I could maybe understand how they could be overwhelmed by a breakfast rush. But, in this case, they should have known this would happen, and yet were completely unprepared for it. Very poorly done. After my meager meal, I went back to my room, packed up and as I went to check out (this was at 8:00 am, there were still no plates and almost no food. Between the poor room design, the offensive parking charge, and the lackluster service, I won't be back.

Terrible. Never staying at hilton again

This hotel scams guests with faulty aqi room sensors. I was charged $900 for smoking fee while there was a wildfire going on outside. These sensors are known for going off over hairspray or febreeze. The management claims my room aqi was 500. If that was the case there would be smoke pouring from the room into the hallway. Also the time stamp on the reports are when I was not even in the room and I can prove that with receipts from stores showing me there and not at the hotel.

Quiet and Comfortable

We stayed here on a Saturday night to attend an evening wedding nearby. It was the perfect location. We had a dog, and there's a large business campus across the street for quiet dog-walking. The staff are very helpful, the rooms spacious and clean, and even with a parking lot full of guests, the motel was very quiet.

Very stressful, left early

It was the worst stay ever. They were doing construction without you knowing. It was loud and it was non-stop. The dust and chemicals in the air were making me and my husband very sick. It was stressful, and you had no hot water no swimming pool and no restaurant. They said it was supposed to be done by the March 31st but it was not. We had to leave early with no help from them or the Hilton. I ended up in the emergency room from being so sick from the hotel and the stress the caused me.
