Great birthday weekend!
We stayed at Collins Lake resort for my daughter’s Sweet 16 birthday party and could not have been more impressed. The condo was roomy, but felt cozy with a gas fireplace, had games for the girls and plenty of sleeping room. Outside there are trails to walk and beautiful scenery. It’s like the perfect little snowy village! We LOVED it. And cosmic tubing was either a shuttle ride or short walk away! Thank you so much for the great service. We will definitely be back :)
Best Christmas EVER!
Now I know that the Collins Lake Resort can not control the weather but it was perfect for a white christmas. We arrived quite late but the resort had organised for us to gain entry to our chalet. The place looks absolutely amazing, a travel magazine could not do it justice with photos. The chalet was perfect with everything we could need and if we did need anything there was a local shop within walking distance, actually most the shops/restaurants that we used were in walking distances, I travelled with 2 kids (13 & 17) and my husband and I always felt safe when out walking either during the day or at night, the locals are very friendly. We stayed in building I chalet 133, we loved it. It has 3 bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Behind our chalet was little snow covered hills that were perfect for sledding, and snow play (we brought some plastic snow sleds for $20 from the local store). They also provide a christmas tree lighting and S’mores (which was a first for me and my family). The only negatives where the beds and pillows were too soft for us (but you may like soft - in which case it would be perfect) and the smoke alarm is very sensitive and would go off every time we used the oven, we worked out if we opened the kitchen window when cooking, the smoke alarm would not go off (just a little trick for you). Those 2 reasons are the only reason for a 4 star rating, otherwise it would have been a strong 5 stars. We will definitely be back, it was just perfect, beautiful and relaxing, I did not want to leave.
RIP OFF ALERT!!!!! CRIMINALS
Booked a 2 day stay here and showed up after hours. The woman said keys were left at the front desk which they were. I booked the room for 2 nights and got confirmation by internet. The unit itself was unclean. Upon turning on the lights upstairs several cockroaches scurried away. The bed was soft and springy and bedding was stiff and hard. Shower was one of those plastic all in one showers with no shower pressure and water took forever to heat up. Although, I had booked for 2 days I decided not to stay the second night. I paid for it and thought it was only right to not check out early The manager did ask I come down to sign the "lease contract" for my stay. When I went to look at what I was signing she had me paid for 1 week!!! WHAT!!! I only stayed one night and was willing to pay the second which is what I booked. The woman was indignant, couldn't give a rat and just blew me off. I asked her to please honor what was committed which she ignored. I have this under dispute with my credit company and have the records of the original confirmation. I have engaged an attorney to deal with them should the credit card company needs help. There is nothing worse than people who steal your money. Shame on you Collins Lake Resort at Government Camp.
This was an exceptional experience to our family vacation. We are from Hawaii and vacation to Mt Hood often. This time we decided to choose another accommodation and we are so glad we did. The location was perfect with a variety of amenities, walking distance to shops, restaurants, and a short drive to the mountain. The 3 bedroom chalet was perfect for our family of 6. It was comfortable, clean and quiet. We were situated near the community lodge. We enjoyed nightly walks around the area which was safe. We will definitely stay here again.
This place is incredible! Located in the heart of Government Camp/Mt. Hood Recreation Area, it offers top-shelf, luxury accommodations. Condos are very spacious and immaculately decorated. Staff is very friendly and on point. Wouldn't stay anywhere else.
