The City Center Motel is centrally located one block from downtown Broadway and a short walk from the beach and the promenade. It’s safe to say; the City Center Motel is your ideal hotel while visiting the Northern Oregon Coast while being easy on your wallet.

Cheap -- not inexepnsive. Not recommended

This is a low end budget motel located in a run down area of town. The grounds are ugly; dead plants, unpruned bushes/trees; generally unkept. When I arrived there was nothing to indicate the name of the motel. The next day, the sign was flashing a bunch of "words" you couldn't read. The trash cans were overflowing. The office is closed. There is no staff on site; you have to go to another motel to check-in. My room was tidy and clean but very tiny (perhaps the smallest motel room I've even seen) -- significantly different than the one pictured. There was no closet, not even a rod to hang your clothes. The bahtroom had a sink, but no counter space. The desk was tacky (perhaps recently painted?). The refrigerator and microwave worked well. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Due to the proximity to the road (less than 10 feet), I was able to hear each and every vehicle which passed. There is virtually no sound proofing, easily hear not only the vehicles but the people in the next room. Avoid this place big time if you are a light sleeper. The lady at check-in, even though flustered by trying to handle three motels, was congenial. The towels were adequate (but, only one small bar of soap). The best thing was being able to walk to shopping and the beach; but, there are many other places with the same access.

Bad Lodging In My Two-day Stay

I actually had a great time in the town except for the two days spent at this establishment. For me, this was a truly traumatic experience. Heater was out. Room phone didn't work. The bathroom door had splintering at the bottom and could have given someone, especially a child, a bad splinter. Not enough towels. Shower curtain literally stank—heavy sour smell. Only three coat hangers in the place. When I got there, I had to drive half a mile south to their "sister" motel to check in. I was not told this fact when making my reservation. On the second day I was there, the gal at the desk said she couldn't do anything about the poor conditions and said that other people had experienced the same or similar issues staying there. There was no effort on their part to make it right by offering me a partial refund. I plan to take some kind of action against the management/owners of this motel. They are already in violation of safety codes due to the bad door I mentioned. Oh, and the bed was squishy, not comfortable. The absolute only good thing I can about this place is that it did not have bedbugs or cockroaches.

Not as I remember

I stayed here in October 2016, so I thought I would stay on this trip to Seaside. It is not the same. They advertise free WiFi. It doesn’t have enough juice to even open a webpage much less download email. There is no manager or employee on site, your pick up your key at another hotel. They rarely answer the phone when you call so don’t expect problems to get fixed. The room smelled like smoke or some other strange smell. The TV doesn’t have a clear picture on any channel. The hot water may not exist. After running the tap for several minutes, it was just getting lukewarm. There aren’t many people staying here so there should be hot water. The bed might be okay. The fridge is pretty nice. They already charged my credit card so I’m stuck for a couple of days. The room is pretty small and so is the bathroom. My advice try option.

My Wife And I stayed in room 312 in the downtown location. 1. No water pressure in toilet or shower 2. No Labels on the shampoo and body wash in the shower. 3. The Bed was VERY uncomfortable, it sunk in the middle, it wasn't stable and it was shaky. IT WAS NOTHiNG BUT EXCUSES WE WiLL NOT BE BACK 3/14/21
