Over-priced and unprofessionally managed
I've never seen a hotel go so far out of its way to paint lame as classy. They may have put a bunch of money into a remodel, but they're cheapskates in all the wrong places. This place is nothing more than a roadside motel with a new paint job and is managed unprofessionally. Check in is an obnoxiously long process. You have to give the front desk attendant ALL of your personal information while she manually enters it into a computer, despite already having provided all of it to make the booking online. This includes your driver's license, license plate, and registration on your vehicle. They claim this is a "State Law" - curious because we stayed in Oregon for eight nights on this trip in a different hotel every night and never had to give out this information at a single other place we stayed. Entire process took well over 20 minutes while multiple people were standing in line to endure the same experience. Unforced error #1. During check in, you also have to fill out a full-page questionnaire on what you want for breakfast and what time you want to pick it up (sounds like it would be nice, right?), only to get a bag of bagels, yogurt, instant oatmeal, and other garbage you could have bought at a gas station. Unforced error #2. The buildings have three stories and no elevator, which they don't bother to mention to you or ask about during check in. This would have been particularly important considering I happened to be recovering from a torn bicep at the time of our stay. The building they put us in has ground level access to either the first or the third floor (built into a hill), so you're stuck lugging your bags either up a flight of stairs or down one if you happen to be on the second floor. Great time considering my recent surgery, but it wouldn't have been an issue had they bothered to mention the configuration or asked if we had an issue with our luggage and stairs. Unforced error #3 and possible noncompliance with the ADA Act. We then got to the room, which was over 80 degrees and approximately 100 humidity with no way to move air to ventilate. When we called the front desk to ask for assistance, the only response we received was "there is no air conditioning". No I'm sorry, no oh can I get you a fan or do something to make your stay more comfortable. Not even an acknowledgement that it's unacceptable to check a guest into a room in that condition. We tried leaving the back door open to cool the room down, but were treated to the symphony of two crackheads yelling at one another for over an hour before giving up. Unforced errors #4 & 5 or whatever we're up to by now. Bottom line, it doesn't matter why there are no elevators or air conditioning, or why they don't even have fans to lend out for that matter. The fact is this ownership is chintzy for no reason in providing such awful amenities as their laughable "breakfast" and the management they have in place are down right negligent at mitigating any shortcomings the property itself may have or making a guest's stay as comfortable as possible, which really is the core of their job. I'd recommend you move on from this place if you're looking at staying in Bandon.

A Special Place to Stay
The Bandon Inn in Bandon, Oregon was a special place to spend the night on our drive down the Oregon Coast. Upon arrival, we were greeted by baskets and planters of beautiful, well kept flowers which complemented the picturesque buildings of the Inn. The staff was very friendly and helpful when checking in and there was complimentary water, as well as snacks and drinks available for purchase in the office. We purchased Champagne and were provided chilled flutes, which was a nice and thoughtful touch! As a plus, the Inn also had a nice gift shop with many unique treasures! Although there was no elevator for the three level building in which we stayed, a staff member was available to assist with our luggage to the third floor. The room was extremely clean and had a beautiful view of the Bay and Old Town. It offered all the amenities we needed and included a well prepared binder book that provided a lot of information and suggestions, as well as an interesting history of the area. The bed was very comfortable and had lots of fluffy pillows. The room was nicely decorated and was very spacious. The breakfast was fine and filling and complimentary cookies were provided in the evening. In all, I would definitely recommend Bandon Inn for those who enjoy a beautiful clean room, a gracious staff and a stunning view —especially at sunrise! Another plus—It also is in walking distance to shopping and restaurants in Old Town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bandon Inn. I highly suggest you give this “Special” Inn a try!
