What a lovely little gem in the heart of downtown Portland! It was a one night work trip and an ideal location with wonderful staff and I can’t wait to stay there again!

2 nights at Mark Spencer Hotel
Room was clean and comfortable. The bed was especially comfortable. Everything we needed within the kitchen king suite. Very friendly staff.

Great Option to Explore and Retreat
Stayed one night before connecting with friends in the city for the weekend, and I definitely plan to return for future weekend excursions. The property appears well maintained, and the staff immediately makes you feel at home. The location is perfect to walk to great restaurants and shops nearby, and there are multiple transit stops within a 5 minute walk if you want to further navigate and explore the city.

Trip to Portland
This hotel was perfectly situated for a trip to Downtown Portland! It is within walking distance to multiple public transit lines, shopping, theater as well as one block away from POWELL'S BOOKS(!). We took the Max train from PDX airport and didnt need to rent a car. The hotel itself was older but well kept up. The staff are all amazing and very kind and helpful. Tim at the front desk checked us in and was exceptional. He answered questions and anticipated our needs as I had arrived after a very long day. We were fortunate to rent a room that had a sitting room and kitchenette. The kitchenette was functional for our needs. The beds were clean and comfortable, and enough pillows to choose one that worked for us. The hallways to the room was decorated with playbills from theater productions. The hotel and hotel rooms had charm, and were not sterile like other chain hotels. All in all, good value due to location and the hotel itself.

A perfect trip to Portland.
The location is great! I love Powell books, Anthropology and Jakes Grill. After checking in with the friendly staff I went around the corner of the hotel and parked my car and brought my luggage up to the room, which took just minutes. The room was well appointed with a marble bathroom, and vanity room en-suite with the bathroom. I left the car parked and walked to my destinations….Nordstroms, Cheryl’s and Powells. The park blocks are close, along with the beautiful old churches around the area. The Mark Spenser will definitely be my new go to when visiting Portland.
