The Hotel Zags is an oasis in the heart of downtown Portland, tucked away in a hidden-gem neighborhood called the Fountain District. Their vision of Portland isn’t a “best-of,” a “top-ten,” or a “must-see” found on some blog. The Hotel Zags will connect you with a different Portland story—a story you can only find if you know where to look.
Get zen in the nature-filled, living wall-covered courtyard, or get wild in the play-inducing game room. Find new meaning for urban adventuring with the hotel’s Gear Shed.
Virtual reality is almost as good as being there.

Don't do conference or meeting here
We were pulled the classic bait n switch, signed up for a bigger conference room and on day of meeting given the smaller room. leading up to this all the pics sent showed bigger room too. they did nothing to fix this and we were stuck in a smaller meeting room. also the actual hotel rooms are very small as well. staff is friendly at front counter at least.

Pretentious and over rated
Ridiculous place. Not for pleasure travel. Staff snooty. Silly $29 extra charge with zero value. Desk didn’t even have change for a ten so that we could tip housekeeping. Do not recommend this place to anyone

Skip this hotel
Not a fan at all. AC broken, had to change rooms. Was originally told to open a window or get a box fan. Absolutely not. I spent $700, that’s unacceptable. Next room had no working phone and a slight stench. No real lighting other than a lamp. Not enough outlets either. Restaurant only open certain days for dinner. Never stayed somewhere with no all day, daily food options.

Easiest Hotel Experience
Everybody there was very nice and my partner and I had a great time! We loved their game room for sure! 😍 It was a very nice and clean stay and we will definitely be back! Also such a great spot in Portland as well and really close to I-5.

Disappointed
Don’t be fooled! The rooms have updated decor, but the hotel is OLD. You’re not getting a crisp and clean room as you expect. The rooms do not have individual ac units and ours blew warm air and made it hard to sleep. Mini fridge didn’t work and not even ice machines. The courtyard is nice, but don’t expect the prices shown on the website for the restaurant. Those have changed and gone up.
