Ideal if you're attending an event at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall
My husband and I really enjoyed our weekend at the Heathman. We were in town to attend a performance of The Oregon Symphony, and the concert hall is right next door to the hotel. Staff was incredibly kind and helpful, especially Destiny and Mindy. The restaurant is fine, ideal for breakfast or a pre-concert meal, and you can choose to dine in the library, which is quite elegant. Our room, a studio suite, was very spacious, very clean, and had two bathrooms, which we really love! There was also a refrigerator, and although the room doesn't include a microwave, we asked for one to be sent to our room. If there was anything less than stellar, it was the furniture, which is a bit austere. On the other hand, the artwork was terrific. The location is in the heart of Portland's cultural district, so there are plenty of museums and restaurants in very easy walking distance. And, given all the plusses and the cost of hotels in Portland, The Heathman offers a lot of bang for your buck. Highly recommend!

The best in Portland
Such a beautiful place to stay! The hotel has recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation, and it truly shows in every detail. The location is unbeatable - just a short walk to the Portland Art Museum and Powell’s City of Books, making my trip perfect for exploring the city. The rooms are fantastic, and I had an incredibly restful night thanks to the comfortable beds. I truly enjoyed my stay and look forward to returning each time I visit Portland.

Great Hotel
Top-shelf property with a great location. Everything was pitch-perfect and I appreciated that the elevators required a keycard to work. (Head's up: there is a $30 'resort fee' which niggles me a little bit when there aren't, you know, resort-y amenities.)

Best Hotel in Portland
Let me tell you a story that encompasses the Heathman's customer service: I was checking out the new library on the second floor when I encountered THE GENERAL MANAGER picking up small detritus on the floor on her way to a meeting. This sort of dedication to the ambiance of the hotel and its laser-like focus on its guests is why I always stay here and why no where in Portland compares to it. From the front desk, to the waiters, to the cleaners they are a happy bunch of people working hard for their guests. Stay here.

Nice rooms, not the friendliest
This is a great old property in Portland, but a lack of customer service ethos leaves a lot to be desired. The room was nice, with nice amenities - though the television had very few options for streaming, movies, etc. The charm of the old place is missing dearly.
