This location is convenient to break up a long drive or as a destination hub, and is only steps away from historic downtown architecture, murals, and interesting shops. The hotel has easy access from the freeway but is set back enough that we could barely hear the freeway and train traffic. We were delighted to discover our room’s view of the Columbia River and the rolling hills beyond. The lobby is lovely and the room comfortable and well-appointed. We slept well on quality mattresses and appreciated the spacious shower. The built-in seat and table between beds is a great touch! There is a tiny refrigerator suitable for a few single-size beverages, a small microwave, and a little coffee maker. Letitia and Greg provided friendly, professional check-in and out services and the housekeepers were fantastic!

This hotel is a best keep secret of the Dalles! The person that is renovating this hotel is doing a phenomenal job! We had to stay in the old section that is going to be renovated. But even those rooms were clean, and comfortable. They had everything you need. The lobby where you check in is the way a lobby should be. Great service and knowledgeable people at the counter (Leticia & Shelby) and a lounge area with games and an old stereo with vinyl records, games, books about the area. A place to buy coffee, wine, etc…. What a hidden gem… keep up the good work 👍🏻👍🏻

We originally made reservations for the Dalles Inn, but due to unfortunate circumstances with a homeless women screaming profanity on the sidewalk under our window non stop, we were moved to the Rayland Hotel. Leticia E. handled the situation professionally and was so kind and took great care of us. The room we were upgraded to at the Rayland Hotel had a great view of the Columbia River from the 4th floor. Thanks Leticia!!

Amazing staff!
We’ve been coming to The Dalles for thirty years to visit family and we’ve always stayed at the same hotel near rhe interstete. This time though we were convinced to change to this hotel by others who were staying here for a wedding we were all attending. Our impression? We will never stay anywhere else from now on. The prices are amazing, the location is perfect, the new styling and lobby are really nice, and the rooms are pretty good. We stayed in the old part of the hotel and there were some quirks to the rooms (the new section is perfect we’ve heard), but the thing that cemented our opinion of the hotel is the staff. Both Gary and Leticia at the front desk were absolutely fabulous. We travel a lot and I’ve never had two people go out of their way for a customer like they did. And it’s not like we had huge issues that they had to go above and beyond for. They were just so generally accommodating and nice in the normal course of checking in, being communicative in the reservation process, helpful when we needed an item or two and just being genuine and helpful in every way. Completely above and beyond. We'll never stay anywhere else when we come to The Dalles.
