The location in the heart of downtown Hood River is excellent. Staff were grand welcoming and the room was beautifully designed, cozy and comfortable. We really enjoyed the sauna and soaking pool too - clean and well stocked. It was a perfect stay.

Loved our stay!
Our one-night stay absolutely exceeded our expectations! Just, wow. Our room was clean with a comfy bed, big shower. Friendly, helpful staff. Bar service with drinks by the fire, with our dog, before bed. Walkable to great restaurants, and a short drive to beautiful hikes and wineries. Love the robes and soaking pool. Worth every penny. Can’t wait to return!

Magical!
The Lightwell is such a magical place. We can for the weekend and barely wanted to leave the hotel. It has excellent coffee available for free in the lobby and cozy nooks to curl up with the paper pr play a game by the fireplace. We loved the spa and hot tubs.

Overnight visit to Hood River!
The Lightwell was an amazing hotel. From the coffee and pastries (I recommend the fig smoothie) at Basecamp to the soaking pool in the spa and everything in between this is a five-star experience. I was in town for a friend's birthday and we spent the night there. I had an interior room, in the lightwell, and I was worried that it would be dark. I was wrong, the warm light from the center lightwell filled my room and it was perfect. My room was clean and tidy, and the bed was soft and comfortable. The location is unbeatable. Everything I needed (and more!) was within a short walk. I'd recommend The Lightwell Hotel to all Hood River visitors.

Sunset views from the roof-top bar
Plenty of parking, fast service, nice bar. i ordered the chicken wrap, friend's ordered the beef and lamb burger... delish... and surprisingly inexpensive for such an amazing place... the sunset view from the roof-top bar was a great end for our evening...
