Pretty good Portland overnight

A coworker and I recently stayed at the Kimpton Hotel Vintage in Portland for an overnight trip related to work. Although I’d give downtown Portland an “F” grade for safety and ambience, I will try to keep this review focused on the hotel; just be aware that the hotel will need to be the oasis for your visit as the downtown surrounding area is pretty bad compared to just about every other city I’ve visited recently. Our visit began (and ended) with dropping off / picking up our rental car with the valets. They did excellent! Both valets encountered were friendly, helpful, and most importantly, efficient. No problems here. The front desk staff were also excellent. We had to fill out special forms for our employer and the front desk team made it happen without any issues. Bar service was okay- the hot food menu seemed limited. Mixed drinks were expensive but strong. Unfortunately, an equipment issue with the oven had the full-service restaurant out of commission or my coworker and I would have had dinner at the hotel. Breakfast at the hotel was delicious and the waiter did a phenomenal job! Highly recommend going down for breakfast if that young man is working again (unfortunately did not catch his name). The room was clean and comfortable. I wish the view was better but it’s an older, renovated hotel so sometimes the views aren’t great in older buildings. The furniture was in pretty good shape but the sink was missing a small screw on knob for the faucet. Not a huge deal but unsightly given the rest of the room’s excellent condition. All in all, this was a good experience and would consider going back if in the area. Thank you for a great visit.

The Kimpton Hotel Vintage Portland is not as good as other Kimpton Hotels.

Disappointing hotel. I had booked the "Luxury Suite" which is the most expensive suite in the hotel. Ironically, the suite had the smallest shower stall that I have ever used. It was really cramped. Another problem--the room was dusty. We had to open a window for fresh air because the heating ducts blew out dust. It seemed like the hotel needs to change their furnace filters. Another problem: I was overcharged. Breakfast was supposed to be complimentary because of my Kimpton and IHG status, and I was charged for a breakfast. I had to complain about the overcharge and haven't received a credit yet. This Kimpton is overpriced, not well maintained, and doesn't provide good service.

Amazing vibes and amenities!

I very much enjoyed my stay at Kimpton Vintage in Portland. All the staff was great and friendly. In particular, Andy and Brooklynn were amazing and attentive. The hotel itself was very nice and pretty. Love the social hour they have everyday. Next time I visit Portland I will definitely be booking my stay here again!

staff party - such a great time!

we just held our annual staff party for 22 people at the hotel vintage portland. the staff was so helpful and flexible, and megan made it easy to plan! the party was so much fun, with our 2 'cool vibes' upstairs rooms that offered shuffleboard and a pool table. we really felt great about bringing our staff to the hotel vintage portland where the servers were super, the food delicious, the setting amazing, and we all had a great time.

Great experience, would recommend for corporate groups!

I organized a 45 person offsite in January, and our group stayed at the Kimpton Hotel. We were looking for a place that felt less sterile than some of the other major hotel brands and instead had more character (and ideally reflected Portland culture). This hotel was a perfect fit for us. Our group loved the decor/atmosphere, game room and daily wine socials. The location downtown was excellent, and in close proximity to restaurants and retail. Their Italian Restaurant onsite was delicious. From a planning perspective, I enjoyed working with their staff and appreciated the accommodations they made for our group in terms of adjusting our room block size (once we added a few new hires), and allowing for different check-in/check-out dates. I would 100% stay here again and recommend it for business groups.
