Fantastic stay at Douglas on Third
Excellent experience. Very good communication and everything was very easy. The accommodations were exactly as described--and even a little better! Many little details, like make-up remover packages, very nice robes, different types of pillows to aid sleep, were all thoughtfully provided. The location is fantastic. Close to everything. There is no real lobby to speak of and no front desk. But there is a common area more like a library you can hang out if you want and any text or email is replied to very promptly with any questions.

Notably Disappointed - And That is Rare
We made a last-minute reservation at Douglas on Third and were surprised by how it compared to its strong reviews. The stay felt overpriced for what we received — thin walls, small details overlooked (like powdered Coffee-mate creamer), and a lack of clarity on what amenities were complimentary. We mistakenly assumed a bag of pistachios was included, opened it, then threw it away. When staff called to charge us for it, we explained the misunderstanding and mentioned it had already been discarded. While polite, they still insisted on charging us. We've never written a negative review before, but walked away disappointed and confused by the high ratings this place receives. I encourage anyone to be sure to read the reviews that are poor and look for consistency. Also go to Google Reviews.

Great location!
This was our first trip to Oregon wine country and we chose to stay at Douglas on Third based on its location and great pricing. Our room was the owner’s suite #8 which had a sitting area, kitchen, bathroom with a claw foot tub/shower combo, and a separate sleeping area with a king bed. It looked exactly as pictured on the website. The suite was what we would consider somewhat ‘tight quarters’ at 334 sq. feet but was immaculately clean and we were able to get towel replenishments and such using a paper form which we placed in a basket outside our door. As clearly stated on the website, the hotel rooms at Douglas on Third are all on the second floor and there is no elevator, luggage lift, or ramp. If you have difficulty with steep stairs or carrying your own luggage up steep stairs, this is not the hotel for you. If that is not an issue, then you should be fine. Again, this was advertised on the website, so we were not expecting an elevator but the stairs were somewhat steep (especially in back where you park). The location of the hotel is perfect and in the center of town where we could walk everywhere. We felt that Douglas on Third was a good value hotel with a very reasonable room rate and excellent location.

Nice visit
Great location! Comfortable yet small space. Only consideration is if you prefer to go to bed before 10pm you will be serenaded by the bumping music of the establishment below you. Clean and well appointed. Odd that there wasn’t a door on the second bedroom of the family suite (which was the better bed).

Good location, comfortable.
Great location in the heart of town for walking to restaurants and wine tasting, and well placed for easy drives to the surrounding wineries. No staff in person but they are responsive and easily reached by phone. They have laundry facilities which came in handy since we were in the middle of a long trip. Rooms are not well laid out, with space that could be better utilized to povide a better feel. Quality control could be better. One of the two TVs (the big one in the living room area) was not working, and over a three day period this was not addressed. Fortunately we had a TV in the bedroom area and did not spend a lot of time in the room, but it was not checked beore check in and not corrected after. Our room was a way from the bar downstairs so it was quiet.
