Safe location and very kind staff. My only qualms were that the description when booking the room through the Dossier website indicated that the Premier Double Beds room would include a soaking tub and walk in shower; I was advised upon arriving this was not correct and that not all of the Premier Double Beds Rooms have that. They did kindly switch our room to one with this bathroom accommodation, however the room we were given had a very strong odor of marijuana. I understand that hotel's cannot control what guests do in the room every single time, but it was quite nauseating. The overall cleanliness could have been much better, but I also understand the limited ability to deep clean between guests (ie. grout mold stains in shower). The noise level was as expected for an inner city hotel; no qualms.

Our stay at the dossier was immaculate. Devin was the one who checked us in and he was an amazing front desk associate. I recommend the dossier to anyone who visits Portland!

Adequate room but employees lacking
Hotel location and room were as described. Employees seem not well trained. I had issues both at check in and check out. I overheard another guest have issues at check in and the front staff was not helpful. My main issue is that hotel employees took the attitude of “this is not my problem.” I’m a federal employee traveling for work and they did not comply with the tax exempt form and I had trouble using the government travel credit card.

The Dossier is in an absolutely beautiful building. The doors, windows and finishes in the lobby and the restaurant are stunning. Wonderful atmosphere. Quiet. The staff were very friendly and professional.

Repeat stay
I choose this hotel because we stayed many years ago. It was fine overall. Bed is comfortable everything looked clean. It just looked like it needed some sprucing up since I last stayed.
