Nice place for a relaxing visit
I said "solo", though it was my wife and me - We stayed here for a couple nights as a mini-vacation to get away from home in a nice setting. Overall, we enjoyed the visit very much and had a relaxing time.
We stayed in a Pinnacle Suite, which is advertised as a 3-level suite, though the first level is really just the entrance and a staircase to the 2nd level. On that 1st level, there is what looks like a door to a garage, but it was locked. There's also a room down there that looked like a storage room, which had a couple of water heaters in it.
But wow, the Pinnacle Suite is basically like a full apartment. The 2nd level has a BIG kitchen and living room area, fully furnished with a TV, couch, table & chairs, and the kitchen is even stocked with silverware, pots, pans, cups, and cutlery, so you can cook food there. There's also a dishwasher. The 3rd level has a nice sized bedroom, big bathroom with a shower with 2 heads, big soaking tub, and there's even a nice walk-in closet and a laundry room upstairs (though you have to ask the front desk for laundry detergent, if you want to use the washer).
This hotel is also located right next to the Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa - It's within walking distance, and there's even a walkway with a sign saying "Columbia Gorge Hotel" near the office of Columbia Cliff Villas. At the Columbia Gorge Hotel, there's a nice restaurant where you can eat if you want to.
A few minor things regarding our unit:
- Our unit was in from the river a bit, so our view wasn't the best. We could see the river from one of the hall windows, but from the back of our unit, we could see across the parking lot to another building, but also partially see some of the gardening and some of the river. But there's an area outside close to the buildings where you can walk to for a good view of the river.
- The TV in the bedroom initially didn't have a picture, but we found that unplugging the power & plugging it back in fixed it.
- We wanted to use the oven, and although the oven had power, initially nothing happened when pushing the buttons. We called the front office, and the staff member came and looked, and they shut off the circuit breaker for the stove (to turn the power off) and back on again - That helped, and we were able to use the stove to make dinner.
Overall, we were happy and had a relaxing visit.
