Trailer in a vineyard experience!
We booked "Trailer in a Vineyard" accommodation through airbnb.com. When we arrived Dave (the host) was waiting us. He was really friendly and obviously he liked being a host. The trailer was literally in a vineyard. It was not new but in good shape and it accommodated us (2 adults/2 little kids) perfectly. We needed to leave early so we couldn't stay for the breakfast.
Refreshing and pleasant!
We had a very pleasant and refreshing stop at Vineyard View B&B. David was gracious and hospitable - and shared a very lively conversation and a very nice bottle of wine with us as we sat overlooking his own vineyard. He served us wonderful coffee, a yummy shrimp Omelette, and some of the sweetest organic pears we've tasted, for breakfast. A great experience - especially considering we called him at the last minute!!
We contacted Dave the day-of, and he was more than willing to accommodate us, even though he planned to be closed for the night to prepare for a large, family gathering. Additionally, Dave went above and beyond when we asked to eat breakfast at different times, as one of us had to drive to Portland early that morning. I was under the impression there would be a note for me in the kitchen to help myself to some basics; however, when I walked into the dining area, a place setting was waiting for me at the table with a healthy and delicious start to my early drive - along with juice poured and coffee ready. Dave also made a separate breakfast for my husband when he was ready to eat. The room was great with nice furnishing, comfy bed, and artwork on the walls to admire. The large bathroom and hot tub was a bonus. Thanks, Dave!
Great place to bring hiking buddies and Welsh friends
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at vineyard view. The rooms were clean and the breakfast excellent. Dave, the owner is a charming wealth of local knowledge and gave us many tips on where to go in the area. This was my second visit and I would stay again! Beautiful locale near Columbia gorge!
Glorified crash pad, keep driving!
The owner wasn't very friendly or helpful upon arrival. No help with the luggage even though the room was upstairs and we were two women, mother & daughter. Instead, he sat on his butt talking with someone outside. Kitchen was dirty with cleaning supplies everywhere. The house was cute enough but needed a lot of work to make it feel like a real B&B. Instead, our experience felt like intruding on a strangers house. Nowhere on the website did it say the bathroom did not have a shower or tub. This was a family room with beds for six people! We were grossed out by the kitchen and left before having breakfast the next morning. Their vineyard was full of weeds and the grass was full of animal poop patties. Not much of a view from our upstairs room. At least the linens were clean but there was only one hand towel and two little washcloths.
