Great first night in Oregon
The Vineyard View B & B is located outside Hood River downtown, out in the country a bit in vineyard country. When you drive up, you’re not sure you are in the right place seeing the back of the building, but walk around back, and a lovely garden area, complete with patios, sitting areas and a view of Mt. Hood, awaits you. We were greeted by the friendliest of guys, our host, Dave. My husband and Dave happily swapped lots of stories. We were shown to our room and were impressed by the art on the walls and the décor of the room. Interesting old antiquey type furniture, very comfy bed. Upon return from dinner, we had plenty of privacy and got a great night’s sleep…the countryside is pretty quiet! Dave made us breakfast in the morning…homemade blueberry pancakes, fresh fruit, thick bacon and lots of delicious coffee! He is quite the chef! We sat with Dave,Soma and their son for breakfast, with easy conversation and lots of laughs. The pancakes were just amazing!!! Dave prides himself on using organic and fresh local ingredients and it shows! We only stayed one night as we were headed south, but would definitely recommend the Vineyard View B & B for any length stay.
Comfortable, clean B&B in a great location
We loved our stay here and are very grateful to Soma and Dave for hosting us. The outdoor space is beautiful with plenty of places to sit and relax. The beds were comfortable and the hot tub in the large suite was a very nice touch. Breakfast in the morning was great as well - pancakes with fresh, local blueberries. We were recommended to Vineyard View by family who also love to stay here, and we will definitely be returning!
Trailer in a vineyard experience!
We booked "Trailer in a Vineyard" accommodation through airbnb.com. When we arrived Dave (the host) was waiting us. He was really friendly and obviously he liked being a host. The trailer was literally in a vineyard. It was not new but in good shape and it accommodated us (2 adults/2 little kids) perfectly. We needed to leave early so we couldn't stay for the breakfast.
Refreshing and pleasant!
We had a very pleasant and refreshing stop at Vineyard View B&B. David was gracious and hospitable - and shared a very lively conversation and a very nice bottle of wine with us as we sat overlooking his own vineyard. He served us wonderful coffee, a yummy shrimp Omelette, and some of the sweetest organic pears we've tasted, for breakfast. A great experience - especially considering we called him at the last minute!!
We contacted Dave the day-of, and he was more than willing to accommodate us, even though he planned to be closed for the night to prepare for a large, family gathering. Additionally, Dave went above and beyond when we asked to eat breakfast at different times, as one of us had to drive to Portland early that morning. I was under the impression there would be a note for me in the kitchen to help myself to some basics; however, when I walked into the dining area, a place setting was waiting for me at the table with a healthy and delicious start to my early drive - along with juice poured and coffee ready. Dave also made a separate breakfast for my husband when he was ready to eat. The room was great with nice furnishing, comfy bed, and artwork on the walls to admire. The large bathroom and hot tub was a bonus. Thanks, Dave!
