Cathy is a thoughtful and attentive host. She is personable and fun without being intrusive. She customized our breakfast and happily filled our requests. Our room was so comfortable and spacious. There was cable tv with premium services and a comfortable sitting area. There was also a small refrigerator in our room. We had a private bath as well. Medford is off the beaten path but it is a lovely town with a nice park and accessible to the California redwoods. Lots of nice touches in the BnB, you won’t be disapointed.
We chose to stay at The White House as a final night of a family trip to get out of hotels. This was THE BEST experience. Kathie, the owner, is amazing!!!! So personable and welcoming. The best in a Bed and Breakfast host -- very low maintenance, completely engaging when you want to be, but extremely relaxed and out of the way at the other times. The property is stellar. With rocking chairs on the beautiful porch in the front and a chicken running around in the back, Super fun and delicious choices for breakfast. A large and comfortable room. So picturesque. But really what makes a place stand out is the owner. And Kathie is the best. Would 150% stay here again. You should too!
On a road trip to Monterey, CA from Seattle, WA, we broke up first long travel day with an overnight stay in Medford. The White House looked great, the reviews here were amazing, but what sealed the deal were the chickens! Our family of three were the only guests for our single night, so we got the entire upper floor--my wife and I stayed in the large main room, and our daughter had the smaller bedroom. The accommodations were perfect in every way--clean, roomy, cozy, and nicely-decorated. We were worried about the heat (it was 90 F when were in Medford), but the rooms had in-room air conditioning and we were very comfortable. Kathie was a gracious and accommodating host and our breakfast on the day of our departure was delicious. My wife and daughter ate the miniature Dutch baby pancakes and I had a simple country breakfast of bacon, eggs, potatoes, and toast. We all loved the food and this foodie family had nothing to complain about. We were sad to only spend one night in this great accommodation, but we know with certain where we'll stay on future road trips that pass through Medford.
My husband and I desperately needed a get away and so while he was having his truck bed replaced with a flat bed we decided to turn his errand trip into a little vacation. After researching I decided we would stay here and I am so glad I did. Kathie was incredible, as were the breakfasts. The house was built in 1903 and although old it is charming and we loved the fact we were the only guests. Kathie made us feel like family and even took us to places and picked us up as we had no transportation. My husband, who is not a big B&B fan truly enjoyed it there and said he would stay again (huge). The bed was incredibly comfortable as was our entire stay.
We took our granddaughters on a road trip and this was their first B & B experience. they absolutely loved it!! Kathie was wonderful and the girls had so much fun gathering eggs in the morning from the chickens. Breakfast was very yummy! One granddaughter said it was "the best french toast she's ever had!" We would high recommend the White House B&B. Thank you Kathie for a fantastic time!!
