Sol Rides is amazing! I have been back 4 times to rent e bikes from Charlie. He is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area - always has great recommendations for routes and escapades, and he is flexible and relaxed, as everyone seems to be in Hood River. I recommend renting his bikes and taking his tours!
During our trip to Hood River, we rented a couple of ebikes not knowing what to expect and ended up having the most amazing day!! Charlie gave us directions on where to ride and it was absolutely beautiful. He recommended two wineries on the route which were delightful after pedaling all day. When we were running late, Charlie was really flexible and said it was no problem. 10/10 would recommend on your next trip to the Gorge!
Definitely recommend renting a bike through Sol Rides! The owner, Charlie, is incredibly helpful and accommodating, and helped make our half-day bike ride a perfect day. The e-bikes make biking Oregon’s sometimes steep roads a breeze, and Charlie’s suggested route was filled with gorgeous views along the Columbia river and stopped by a couple wonderful wineries. If you’re visiting town, it’s a must do!
A big thank you to Charlie. We had an amazing day riding E-bikes around Hood River and Mosier. Charlie give us excellent directions to lookouts and wineries. Bikes are great quality and the customer service was terrific. We will rent from Sol Rides again soon
Sol Rides is an excellent choice for eBike rental. We were in Hood River for a few days and wanted to ride. We did a half-day rental. After a quick review of how to use an ebike, we went to the historic old route 30. As we went out of town, the first thing that we were confronted with was a bunch of steep switchbacks. No problem for the bikes. We were able to ride right up the road to the top with no problem. Then we continued on the trip to the Mosier Twin Tunnels. Again, the uphills were no problem. It feels like someone is giving you a gentle push. You have to pedal or you don't get the e-assist, so it feels like you are pedaling the bike. Very comfortable and really fun. We did 28 miles round trip and still had plenty of power left over. We mostly used Sport and then Turbo on the uphills. We highly recommend Sol Rides for a fun ride.
