Our cruise stopped in Astoria and we booked this tour for its local operators. Easy to walk to the meeting point we hopped on our tour mini van with Kate and headed to the beach for amazing views and photo opportunities, we got to gather a bit of the shimmering sand in tiny corked bottles provided by Kate, such a fun memento. Moving onto other points like Fort Stevens, The Astoria Column where you could walk up to the top and fly a provided paper airplane off the side. We ended up at the Goonies house while others went to see the seals or downtown shops. The snack break of jalapeño salmon dip was a refreshing touch. As a parting gift we all received a sand dollar to take home. Thanks Onward Excursions for the memories

Beaches, Haystack and Sea Lions
What an amazing time we had with Katie from Onward Adventures on our private tour of the beaches near Astoria. Katie's enthusiasm and knowledge and deep passion of her community shines through. We enjoyed the painted rocks, Seaside and Cannon Beach and a well-timed stop at the Haystack for a low-tide visit. We ended the tour with a sing-a-long with sea lions. And then Katie took us for a delicious steaming hot bowl of clam chowder topped with smoked salmon at Josephine Smokehouse Chowder House in Astoria, a wonderful place that's been family-owned for over 100 hundred years. A great day!

The Inside Look at Astoria, Ore.
We had an amazing time with our guide Katie from Onward Adventures, who is passionate and knowledgeable about her community of Astoria. She had great stories and good tips. She was very helpful and accommodating and tailored the tour to our and others needs. She helped the group break ice and enjoy each other's company. We particularly enjoyed the Astoria Column and its amazing view, the drive-around tour of Astoria's great homes and the city's unique history, and the 1906 shipwreck of the Peter Iredale. We learned a lot more about Astoria's rich history than we imagined was there. It made us want tio come back to Astoria for more. The tour was great value for the money.

Katie from Onward Adventures was a blast!
Oh my Gosh we had so much fun with Katie from Onward Adventures! She took us to Hug Point, Haystack Rock, Painted Rock Beach, through Cannon Beach town, and Seaside, etc. She was so very friendly and outgoing; knowledgeable and eager to share her knowledge! Don't miss out on her and her tour!
