Mixed experience for me, butmy husband loved it
We went to Sandland Adventures, south of Florence Oregon on a recent West Coast tour. Besides the rides in various types of vehicles, in Sand Dunes State Park, there are also a mini-golf, and aquatic bumper cars at this venue. We rode in a large sand dune buggy with 26 in the group, in our vehicle. The sand dunes are interspersed with areas of grass & forest, and borders on the ocean, so the scenery was incredible! An advisory is given up front about back issues, but chose to go on this adventure, even with moderate issues with my back & neck. The ride itself is bouncy and twisty, so wasn’t the best thing for my back, which was sore & fatigued for a few days after. On the other hand, the abrupt downhills, while not my preference, did not make me have any motion sickness issues. Picture taking is somewhat capricious with the motion and the size of the sand vehicle. Our tour being mostly retired senior citizens, the driver did not push the limits of speed or “thrills”. My personal reflection: If you have any concerns about back and neck, you might want to consider doing the mini-golf instead. That being said, the vehicles are sturdy and well-built, with safety belts and strong roll bars, although the seats are not cushioned. The ride itself is OK for mobility impaired persons, so long as you can get into it OK. The ride creates quite a breeze, even on a relatively calm day, so be aware that it will feel cooler than the ambient temperature. Also, make sure your hat or scarf will stay on in the wind & the bumpy ride, and take whatever sun precautions you personally need. They stated that open-toed shoes were, for whatever reason, not allowed. All in all this was an interesting adventure for me, although my husband loved it.

Wild!
I did the one hour sandrail tour - which is the most adventurous option. It was like an hour long roller coaster. So much fun. Make sure you don't eat a big lunch beforehand.

Extremely inconsiderate and unprofessional customer service.
For many years I have taken countless family and friends to Sandland Adventures when they visit Oregon. Two weeks ago, I/we had the very first bad experience. We booked the giant dune buggy followed by the sand rail. We were booked on the Giant dune buggy with it filled with camp kids. It was so loud and noisy we barely heard our driver during the hour long guided tour narrative about the dunes. After the ride I spoke with the (so called) manager about our dissatisfaction and requested a future booking compensation. She firmly said NO for any refunds. I calmly explained my disappointment with the company for even a future compensation, explained my years of loyalty and business, and she said if I was upset, perhaps I should leave!!!??? I worked in public service for 20 years and treating the public with respect and that the customer was always right, was always the norm. But, to be asked to leave???? After many years, this unfortunate customer service now has me never wanting to return.

So much fun!
Experienced, knowledgeable, and personable driver who made our experience so much fun! We felt safe even when speeding up and down the sand dunes at higher speeds than expected. Great fun for all ages!

Company will not return your call
We were visiting family in Oregon from North Dakota and wanted to take the family on the Sandrail tour, due to questions with the online booking we called the phone number on the website. We left several messages throughout the week at different times of day, each day there were still available tours. No response! The day we were going to the coast, no available tours! Why do you give the option to leave messages if you will not call back?
