We have stayed at the Sea Gypsy over a dozen times over the years and we have learned to expect the unexpected but the view and easy access to the beach make up for it. Half the time there is always something broken or not working, furniture was changed out and is not as pictured (we plan and pick the rooms based off of website pics), and it is kinda run down but like I said, beach access. Each unit is individually owned so you never know what you will get as far as bed comfort goes but last time we stayed, I took a pic of the mattress brand because it was so good and I wanted one for our guest room. The pros are… It is nice to bring groceries and cook for ourselves. The kids enjoy the pool. There is a big light on the hotel that lights up the beach. Did I mention beach access? It irks me that the pics don’t reflect what you actually get, same with room descriptions. Sea Gypsy deletes comments off their TikTok if they aren’t glowing and they don’t ever really take accountability or try and change anything. They’ll gloss over all the issues and just say “glad you had a great time”. But, again, beach access.

This is one of our favorite places to stay on the Oregon Coast. It is right on the ocean and a good value. From th outside the property is a bit dated, but inside the units we have stayed in it is great! Clean and quiet.

Sea Gypsy Review – Room 315 The room itself was fine overall, but there are definitely some areas that need attention. The mattresses were uncomfortable, and every movement caused the whole bed to shake, which made it hard to sleep. It also got very hot at night — opening the window helped, but then we had to deal with noise from outside. Screens on the ocean-facing windows would be a big improvement. We also noticed the siding under our window was crumbling, which didn’t leave the best impression. Interior maintenance was disappointing and really needs to be addressed. Bathroom vents were loosely attached with paper towels to keep them from rattling, and one wasn’t even set flush — you could see right into the ceiling. Several lightbulbs were burned out, and towel bars were missing in the main bathroom. Cleanliness also fell short. Some dishes were put away wet with food still on them, and the coffee pot still had old coffee and grounds left in it. Supplies were minimal as well — we only had one garbage bag for four people over a four-night stay. While we understand that condos often require guests to bring some of their own items, basics like extra garbage bags are something we’ve come to expect from most vacation rentals. This condo has a lot of potential, but it really needs some updates and better attention to detail to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable.

A great beach getaway!
Father of the Tides at the Sea Gypsy was a great getaway by the sea! We had an amazing view of the ocean and the beach was just steps away. The room was very nice and well equipped. The king size bed was very comfortable and it was nice that there was a ceiling fan and black out curtains.

Another Great stay at the Sea Gypsy!
Central Lincoln City location with easy travels North and South. Great beach access and eh unobstructed view make this a relaxing stay. The unit had a very good bed. The suite was nicely updated updated with all necessary accessories. We'll be back again!
